This is basically about Hollywood and producers etc. possibly just asking fans of certain franchises, Marvel for instances, i know theres more so post them as you will, asking the fans what they want too see in a marvel movie, obviously there are a few problems with this for instance not being easy to film how it would affect the flow and story and not being able to attract new fans. But with a better fan input would you not say that spider man 3 and Wolverine could have been great movies. whatever im just putting it out there.
No you were clear, I'm just slow. I think only the some fans should have input, I mean not everyone knows how to make a film.... but we all seem like we do and make stupid ideas on how to improve a movie or even provide an idea for a movie.

I'm not sure about fan input.I seriously think if fans had their way these films would be far worse. I mean it's not as if all the fans are on the same page. If some fans have input you'll have the rest of them up in arms wanting to know why they don't have input. The only fair way to do it would be to have a voting system, and that's no way to make a film. I think the studios need to respect them as proper films that deserve a good writer and director and money. Because as it is they only seem to see comic book movies as bags with dollar signs on and that's one reason why they suck.
Yea i get what your saying. But the main problem is its the producers have too much say like way back when Kevein Smith was writing and going to direct a Superman film the producers hated it because it was too like to the comics, Seriously if an open discussion on the web involving producers, writers and fans on ideas for a new comic book movie were to happen i think a decent film could be forged maybe all CGI in the style of Resident Evil Degeneration so that we don't have to see bad actors like Toby Maguire, and also this opens realms of possiblity for lets say a Hulk V's Thor movie.

I just find it funny that people always jump on the back of filmmakers when they make a terrible film and yet when there is a bad comic book run they complain then move on.
Have you seen this.
If they do an Avengers or Justice League movie they have to do it like this.
the fans are the ones who screwed up spiderman 3. Sam rami had a story with vulture and sandman, but everyone one kept whinning we want venom. The fans got what they wanted, but hated it. The fans don't know what best for movies. They act as if they could do a better job. And spiderman 3 is a great example of what happens when fans have a say in the story process of the movie.
"If the audience knew what they wanted then they would be the artist, not the audience." --- Alan Moore.
Its just my opinion that all comic movies are wholly unnecessary. I think they are a waste of time and their only purpose is to cash in on something already established. Even movies made based of recent published works still act as a cash grab by selling 'special edition' reprints. Remember how many shitty books came out with the Watchmen release? That wasn't what quality or art is. That was an excuse to sell doomsday clock coasters and Silk Specter diaries. Its a bloody cash grab.
That's all it is. They don't give a damn about the fans. They obviously don't care about the comic either. A comic is a comic, not a pending film franchise. A good artist will find a way to develop and expand his work to test the bounds of the medium. Not develop a half-assed version of storyboards. I've yet to hear a single reason on why to adapt a comic book into a movie beyond increasing sales.
More on topic I don't see the fan-boy collective being able to add anything to a final project on a good movie. I don't want to write the next issue of X-Men. I want to read it(not really, just an example). If I wanted I could sit in my basement all day and night writing my own stories for what happens. In that case I would be a writer in my own right. However I would much rather enjoy being able to sit back and be entertained and tell my own personal stories as opposed to adopting a brand name for the sake of the almighty dollar.
Summation? If you want to make a movie or write a story, do it yourself for others to enjoy. Don't half-ass it with suggestions about what costume someone should wear and how the really 'effects the integrity,' of a piece of multi-million dollar cash-grab schlock.
Good point hadn't I thought about it like that, so now i geuss what i'm after is a movie franchise with a new super hero never before seen in a comic but with the super hero fanbase and the great comic writers and producers making a movie it will never happen, but i geusse it would be kind of cool.
I think it would a good idea to get some opinions from fans. Just do some research. Really, if you know nothing about a certain comic or a super hero, you need to do your research and see what the fans say about certain things.
For the listeners of the C&V podcast who want to give us feedback and ask us questions.
note: I didn't want to start this group, infact I hate the idea, but part of me wanted to know how many people listen to the show so i decided FINE
