I mean... oh no... what a tragedy... and such...
Permalink Reply by Ultimate Snyderman on August 19, 2012 at 11:43pm Thank you for being an asshole.
Permalink Reply by Chig Champa on August 19, 2012 at 11:49pm You're right, I should feel sorry for the rich famous guy who killed himself.
Permalink Reply by Mr. E on August 19, 2012 at 11:49pm Gotta agree with Jonathan on this one. Guy made some great flicks.
Permalink Reply by Chig Champa on August 19, 2012 at 11:52pm Are you going to post any of his great movies...?
Either way, I fail to see what his movies have to do with the fact that I refuse to feel sorry for a healthy and rich man who made a conscious effort to kill himself and succeeded.
Permalink Reply by Mr. E on August 19, 2012 at 11:53pm I'd say four memorable flicks is more than we get out of most, and the first two are fucking phenomenal.
Permalink Reply by Harry Lime on August 19, 2012 at 11:54pm You could argue that Top Gun is the quintessential 80s movie, and that True Romance is the best Tarantino film.
Permalink Reply by Chig Champa on August 20, 2012 at 12:00am I couldn't argue the first part, because I find the notion ludicrous.
I suppose True Romance is Tarantino's best, simply because Tarantino didn't direct it...
Permalink Reply by Harry Lime on August 20, 2012 at 12:11am I could argue it. An almost perfect metaphor for how the 80s is viewed today. Granted, its only coming from a perspective of the movie's impact and influence and not of its inherent qualities, but still.
And, exactly.
Permalink Reply by Mr. E on August 20, 2012 at 12:05am Who said you need to feel sorry for him? Hate him all you want. It was a pretty fucked up thing to do. Doesn't change the fact that the guy did have talent and made some great and memorable films.
Permalink Reply by Scrump Bolymeux on August 20, 2012 at 12:07am Pretty much. I'm not a fan of Tim Burton, but if news broke out that he killed himself it'd still be pretty shocking and unbelievable to me.
