There are many theories to time travel but in my opinion, the way time travel works is that whenever you go back into the past, you create an alternate reality. So basically, I'm saying that time isn't straight, it goes into different directions. What do you think?
See, once your already back in time, i think u would just stay there no matter what you do to "your self".
Cuz all that is you (scientifically) is already there so while it wouldn't happen again, and you would no longer exist in the future, the you in the past would still stay there.
I don't know if anyone has touched on this question yet because I only skimmed through the thread...
I always had a problem with your future self being able to meet up with your past self... How could my one physical body exist in two places at once? Matter can't be created or destroyed only redistrubuted... right?
my physics is most likely off, but if you could build a machine that can travel the speed of light, you could travel into the future or the past without aging.
apparently, some of the stars we see in the sky aren't there any more, but we see them twinkling in the night because their light finally reached our planet.
oh, and yes, kizzy, matter cannot be created or destroyed.
. . .certain drugs can make you feel as though you traveled through time and space. not that i would know first hand, mind you : )
People often bring up the subject of alternate realities when contemplating time travel, and how individual choices affect the nature of reality. Many people believe that every time you make a decision, you create not only a reality based on that decision, but also another or multiple other realities that are affected by the alternatives (alternate realities).
However, I myself am skeptical of this theory because I can only perceive one reality. So, my own personal theory (which I cannot scientifically verify but can verify with anecdotal evidence) is that alternate realities exist, but that they exist ahead of time and every time you make a choice, your decision influences the one reality we experience and erases all other alternatives.
