It looks different.

I like the original freddy. I liked his voice in old movies and from watching the trailer for the new just sounds too ruff and not scary. maybe I'll give it a shot

If they're really playing him up as a sort of dead serious villain who won't crack a single joke, he's going to have to be really, REALLY badass to pull that off. I mean, he's going to have to do a little more than attack you in the bath and accomplish his famous levitation act from the first film.

In the earlier films, Freddy never cracked jokes. He was mysterious and dark. Hopefully the new Freddy will be the same.

When I mean cracking jokes, I don't mean slinging puns around like he did in 4-6. Even in the very first movie, he had a giddy quality to himself where he played gags that aren't knee slappers, but still portrays the character as a bit of a prankster. Like french kissing through the phone.

Or the scene in the beginning when she grabs his face and it comes off and he's laughing out laud.

Essentially they've gone for realism. If you've seen an actual burn victim, they look like that. I don't know if that makes it scarier or not though.

Imo he looks scarier for the simple fact that he doesnt have that "monster" look on him anymore. He looks more like a... well a burn victim now. I must say that if id walk down the street and meet the old Freddy i would just shake my head and think i was dreaming or something (no pun intended) but the other guy would freak me out bad. Well im having a hard time describing why i think this one is scarier cause when i think about it he really is attacking people in their sleep so he really doesnt need to look real since he doing such unreal things, but meh might aswell change it up abit.
