Dear LEOG, what is a Best Picture winner? Sure you can just say a great movie but I would love to know what each of you have to say in what certain thing or things about a movie to you make it a Best Picture winner at the Oscars and to yourselves personally.

What are some of the most tired Oscar baiting tricks in your opinion?

For me it has to be movies set against a WW2 backdrop.

I really dig this question. it may be cliche, but I'd have to say that by making the main character mentally handicapped bugs me.

I'm convinced I've committed a few hundred movie cardinal sins.  What classic movies are considered "Required" for anyone that claims they love movies, genre not withstanding?

Has there ever been a movie that won for best picture in which you were glad it received the honor at first, but over time you suddenly felt that it did not deserve it for some reason?

Dear League,

As Leon pointed out above, a lot of people think the Oscars are bullshit (me included). This probably stems from numerous snubbing of great film and replacing it with complete shit (i.e Take Shelter vs The Tree of Life) . My question is in the last 5 years which films would the League take out of the Best picture nominees and what would you replace them with?

Dear LEOG,

there are many times that a film wins the oscars and we are shocked they've won, but I want to focus on nomanies. has there ever been a film that was nominated for any award, which left you slacked jawed and thinking, "What the fuck?"

I think they answered this once, from what i recall they said they were never super shocked that a movie had won or been nominated. Sure not all movies deserved the award (the kings speech) but they could see why people would like it and why it won.
