More conversations on of our current hot points of interest: April Fool's Day, Game of Thrones: Season 2, Joe R. Lansdale's new book "Edge of dark Water", Cat at The Nerdists, Harris (aka Dr. Nerdlove) at AggieCon and whatever the hell else comes to mind.

Got any questions for us?

Dear LEOG,

Ever have an argument with someone over a TV show? Such as the meaning of a season or series finale, a character being bad or good, whether or not it was a good show? For example, two fellow students at my college were arguing (quite seriously) about the Walking Dead finale, and it made me wonder if you guys have ever had a similar argument. Hope to hear your thoughts, and as always, LONG LIVE THE LEAGUE.

Hey guys,

With Game of Thrones being a huge hit on TV and Hunger Games being the box office hit that it is, people are continuing to look for the next big property to adapt into a franchise. Most of these seem to come from a series of books.

What I'm most curious about is the book industry. Getting a book into the public eye is tough enough, but now it seems you can only really break into the public consciousness if you're a series--something that can be mined by executives for the next hit franchise. My question to you all is, can a book be adapted into a movie or TV show, be a smash hit and hit big with people if there is no series attached?

Thanks and long live the league!

Dear League, If you were in The Game Of Thrones universe, what would you be and what weapon would you have? I would be an assassin with a giant sword like Squall Leonhart from Final Fantasy. Thank you if you read this and LONG LIVE THE LEAGUE!

dear leog

after watching the first 3 episodes of game of thrones season 1, I promptly read all of the books over the next few months, all these being a blur where i am not sure where the lines are drawn between the books. as such don't really know if this question applies.

i would like to know if you think hbo has the guts to go threw with what Greyjoy does and what the bastard of Bolton does to him.

also how do you feel about them making all the children about 2 years older then they are in the book

furthermore, having who i like to call the white bitch of the west, say that "power is power" do you think that they are going to change idea that the books have regarding little finger, that a man without any power, in terms of men at his command, has changed the course of history more then any general or solder in the series of books. strictly by not having him being viewed as a threat of rebellion, he can change the world by being useful to the right people.

Dear League,

One of the most talked-about topics on the Internet right now is the ending of Mass Effect 3. I honestly cannot think of any piece of popular culture that has inspired this much backlash and outright vitriol, with the exception of the Star Wars prequels. Tens of thousands of fans have rallied together to demand that the ending be changed to be more in line with what Bioware (the Mass Effect series' developer) originally promised it would be.

My question is this: do you think that Bioware should cave and alter the ending? Is artistic integrity more important than pleasing your fans?

Thanks, and long live the League!

P.S. I personally think the ending should stay the way it is. That's not to say I like the ending (to be honest, I think it actually made me clinically depressed for about half an hour), but it still pains me to see artistic expression hindered by the very fanbase that claims to celebrate it.

Dear Leog,

For trailer talk this week, please talk about the new Total Recall trailer. My question for GOT is if you lived in Westeros what would each of your families' sigil be? Mine would be a grizzly bear holding a PS3 controller scratching his butt on a giant oak tree.

Long Live the League!!

P.S. Winter is Coming.

Dear LEOG,

Has anyone seen the Iron Sky trailer yet?

Thanks,

Murph

I have a Game of Thrones question:

As a person who has read all the books, including the novellas, I love watching the tv show to see what changes they make in the tv show, and since GRRM advises them on the story, I like to see what they show in the show that isn't explicit in the books, e.g. Renly Baratheon and Loras Tyrell's gay relationship.

So my question is, what deviations from the books did you guys like/dislike and what plot elaborations did you guys like?

Thanks for answering my question, LONG LIVE THE LEAGUE!

I would love to hear all of your thoughts on the Chevy Chase and Dan Harmon feud.

Dear LEOG,

I put it to you that, having read the comics and books in question, there's more excitement with each new Walking Dead episode as no-one knows what's going to happen (I certainly wasn't expecting Dale or Sophie's death, or indeed Shane's long life) when compared with the direction Game of Thrones is taking. The GoT twists and turns are known already, diminishing the "What'll they do now?" factor of the show. Do you prefer to see an adaptation being made which is the same story, told in a different medium, over an adaptation which alters the story, perhaps for the better?

Thanks for the days, probably months at this stage, of entertainment lads and ladies. Long Live the League.
