Based on the novel entitled 'Prince Of Thieves', 'The Town' focuses on the lives of a tight professional group of bank robbers and the federal agent dedicated to taking them down at any cost in Charlestown, Boston.
Ben Affleck plays 'Doug MacCray', the groups front-man who accidentally get's involved and falls in love with a woman called 'Claire Keesey' (Rebecca Hall), who was the bank manager of their current heist at the time. Unknown of the truth, Claire begins a relationship with Doug which causes him to think twice about his past life, making a change for the greater good and where his loyalty lies. Now with Doug's sudden change of heart, his best friend and partner in crime 'James Coughlin' (Jeremy Renner), desperately tries to make him reflect on the life he intends to leave behind and also focus him on the final heist of what seems to be, both their careers as robbers. Not only James but his sister 'Krista' (Blake Lively) as well tries to convince Doug to stay, but with all the complications starting to stir within the group, this in return starts to cause the F.B.I and it's determined agent 'Adam Frawley' (John Hamm), to quickly gravitate towards them.
