If it's crap... We'll tell you

There's really nothing that makes a good movie great like an awesome climax. As I'm sure we all remember from our English class, the climax is the "high point" of a story, the point where the ending has become pretty much clear. But as in literature, the film industry has produced some of the most memorable climaxes in the history of storytelling. So, without further ado, I present my list of the top 10 movie climaxes.

P.S. There will be no spoilers in this list. I'll give nothing away, and reading this list won't ruin the movies for you.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

10) HOT FUZZ

This movie is one of my favorite comedies, and the climax is just crazy. All in all, "Hot Fuzz" is a movie that keeps getting funnier (and stranger) as the story progresses.

9) RUSH HOUR

This movie will always be special to me, mostly due to nostalgia. I remember seeing this movie when I was 12. I loved it then, and I love it now. I remember replaying the climax on my computer over and over and over again. Definitely one of the best combinations of comedy and action I've ever seen.

8) THE BOONDOCK SAINTS

This film is obscure to most people and not much needs to be said. But I really like the climax. So... yeah. That's it for number 8.

7) KILL BILL VOLUME 1

When I see this climax, all I can think of is how hard it must have been to film. The aerobatics, the blood, the sword fighting; the kind of stuff only a man like Tarantino could pull off.

6) KING KONG

This may not be my favorite climax, but I can't argue that by now, it's the most famous climax ever. I think we all know how it went at this point. I would like to talk about it in greater detail, but like I said; NO SPOILERS!!!!

5) APOCALYPSE NOW

This one would have had to make it on my list no matter how I constructed it. Not much can be said without giving too much away, but I will say this; I fucking LOVE that song.

4) SCARFACE

How could this one not be on the list? The climax of this movie is definitely one of the best I've ever seen. I think James Rolfe from http://cinemassacre.com said it best; "It's like watching your inner rage explode on screen."

3) THE GODFATHER

It only makes sense that one of the best movies in cinema history would have one of the best climaxes ever. When the Corleones take care of business, they REALLY take care of business.

2) THERE WILL BE BLOOD

What's truly remarkable about this climax is that there's no gunfire. There's no massive battle. There's no flashy explosion at the end. It's just a dead serious conversation, with what I consider to be one of the best quotes from a movie I've ever heard.

And now, my favorite movie climax of all time...

1) INGLORIOUS BASTERDS

Holy shit. You know that phrase, "you have to see it to believe it?" Well when I saw the climax of this movie, I still couldn't believe it. If the climax of this movie isn't enough proof that Quentin Tarantino is a genius, I don't know what is.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

And that's my list of the top 10 movie climaxes of all time. If your favorites didn't make it on the list, feel free to comment and tell us what you think.

Seen most of those movies and can pretty much agree with 'em...
Here's some of my favorites:

2001: A Space Odyssey - If you've seen it then you know what I'm talking about.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly - Tense as all hell.

Dr. Strangelove, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb - The last 10 minutes are ridiculous.

Brazil - Surreal (like the rest of the movie)

Braindead/Dead Alive - Freudian, to put it lightly...

Pulp Fiction - Yep.

The Big Lebowski - The final scene with the Nihilists is goddamn hilarious.

Mulholland Dr. - You'll be terrified of old people for a while

Let the Right One In - There's a scene at the end that involves a swimming pool and is shot underwater--it's one of my favorite scenes of any movie.

District 9 - As many have said, it's full of fuck yeah moments

Am I the only one sniggering at "climax"?
Anyway, one of my favorites was in Resevoir Dogs.

Lord of War-It made me think alot about that certain subject.
Sunshine-Very surreal but it pretty much captures what some of my dreams turn into. They end up being blurry, fast paced and too surreal.
Casshern-The ending was just so beautiful that it made up for the flaws.
A Bittersweet Life-I cried
Where/Wild Things Are-Another tear jerker
Right at Your Door-Didn't see that one coming.
Interstella 5555-It made me want to dance and cry at the same time.
Electroma-So beautiful
Old Boy-Oh shit!

Blade Runner has one of the best of all time it's not super action packed but the suspense just kills you watching the speech almost pretty much like There will be blood's climax.
Full Metal Jacket always puts me in a stranglehold in the last couple scenes-
Children of Men was intense as hell watching the climax and very real and shaky.
The Road Warrior's big Chase-
Public Enemies and i also enjoyed the Resolution of what happens to the girlfriend of Dillengers
Snatch had a lot of great twists all the way to the ending..
Devil's Rejects, True Romance,

So season 2 started out kinda...lame. Well...really lame. So far there have been 10 episodes aired and that "really lame" feeling has vanished. The first 5 or so episodes were O.K. but nothing special, though if you had seen the un-aired ending to s…
