I'll agree with all of you that it does look knid of similar to the last Frank Millar movie"Sin City" but for some reason most spill members are hating on this movie, but why? No one hasn't even seen it yet and everyones treating this as if it was a Friedberg and Seltzer project.WTF! Maybe it won't be as good as Sin City. Maybe it will. Who knows? My question is what has bitten you in the ass to trash this movie so bad? If frank Millar really liked and respected Will Eisner wouldn't you people at least give him credit for trying to make a faithful adaptation?

Let me preface this by saying I'm a life-long comic fan who never read the Spirit, so I don't have a history of expectations to contend with. I hope it is a great movie.
That being said, I think that on the surface it seems like a semi-lame idea for a movie.
A superhero whose power seems only to be the ability to withstand beatings? A villain who dresses like everyday is a different Halloween party to go to? Any "It girls" you can think of in roles that seem like Bond Girl knockoffs? A seemingly-exact usage of the Sin City filming style?
And in a continuation of an older super-flick trend that kinda sucked... why is the lead character the second bill star? "Superman: The Movie," starring Jor-El! "Batman," starring the Joker! "The Spirit," starring everybody BUT the Spirit!!??
I'll see it anyway, but that's my two cents on first impressions from the trailer and other promotional stuff.

This is the main reason I think it looks like trash. It doesn't resemble the Spirit. It looks like Frank Miller used it as a vehicle to do Sin City 2.

I really have a hatred for people who judge movies before they see them...
It gets on my last nerve, When the movie comes out and you think its shit, then please go ahead and rant on it, but when the movie is WEEKS away from coming out and people judge it just by the trailer, it makes me ANGRY!!!
TRAILERS LIE!!! A trailer can make a bad movie look good, or a good movie look bad!!!
