The movie felt terribly forced. So many plot elements were left unexplained when they could have been used to help the audience understand Rebecca's character.
"We were never friends." At one point, a mysterious girl confronts Rebecca with this hurtful comment. Is anything gained from this besides a stupid ass one-liner later on? No. She could have said, "Trix are for kids." It literally would have had the same impact.
The acting was typical of the genre. Some were weak and others were decent. There really isn't anything to say about it.
The direction felt uninspired. There wasn't any tension throughout any part of the film and it's supposed to be a thriller; put some goddamn atmosphere into it.
This film was your generic genre made-for-rental film, so I give this movie a: Some Ol' Bullshit!!!
-- Casually Speaking --
You know what... Meester's character, Rebecca, was right. Her methods may have been way off base; but she had (in her mind), genuine intentions. How does Kelly's character, Sara, react when she discovers Rebecca has a mental illness?
"Well fuck her; I'm moving out."
How about you be a decent person and try to get her some help fuckface?
You didn't have to stick around and see if she pulls through. You didn't even have to be her life coach. The least you could've done was casually mention, "Hey, maybe those meds are a good idea." You could've even blackmailed her into taking them. "Hey, I won't be your friend unless you take your meds."
But no, what did you do? You moved out like the prima donna bitch that you are. Fuck Sarah for being a punkass bitch.
On another note... doing a fucking slow-mo at the end, when Sara reaches for her sister's necklace, and trying to lure the audience into thinking she might still be alive is not scary; it's fucking stupid. Zach Snyder would've moved the camera faster than you did during that shot. I mean fuck... Rebecca got stabbed in the spine! What was she going to do dumbshits? Stephen Hawking them to death? Go thriller on their asses?
