I'm pretty sure someone's done this before, but, what the hell. So, which film/s do you think should have been nominated for or should have won awards at the Oscars? Which films were snubbed? Which shouldn't have even been nominated?

You can pick any films from any year.

Javier Bardem should've won the Oscar instead of Colin.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

I also think Biutiful should've won Best Foreign Language, and been nominated for best picture (Being that there are 10 nominees)

I think "The Town" got snubbed, easily the best crime film of the year and deserved nominations in directing, writing, and for Best Picture.
Agreed, definitely should've been nominated for the script.
I completely agree. I thought The Town was one of the best films of 2010 and was surprised when it didn't get nominated.

I liked the The Town, but i totally disagree.

Its a rip-off of Heat.

A Bank Robber falls in love, plans to runaway with girl after his last job but ultimately he is unsuccessful...

Sorry guys.

I see where you're coming from there. But, even if it is, it isn't that noticeable, and it's still a great crime movie. Hey, I just remembered. In Heat, they weren't bank robbers, they were just a gang of robbers and conmen. Also, Heat focused a lot more on the other characters in the gang, so you had different side-plots involving them. Whereas, in The Town, it focused pretty much just on Ben Affleck's character.

In Both Films There is;

  • One Bank robbery.
  • One security van robbery.
  • All the bank robbers die, before the lead robber (Obviously in The Town he survives)
  • The lead Bank robbers both fall in love.
  • They both plan to runaway after their last job with the girl.
  • They both hide their identities from the girl.

I mean i can see what your saying, but all The Town needed was a cop who was not portrayed as a douchebag and had equal screen time as the Robber and hey presto...Sorry if my list sounds kinda douchey.

lol yeah I see now. But even if it is a rip-off of Heat, it's still a good one. And it still tells that same story well. Come to think of it though, I'm pretty sure that what you just explained there is the standard generic plot for most crime movies. The Town and Heat just execute it really well. I'll admit, though, that Heat did it quite a bit better.
I suppose, but i feel that all these components can't be coincidental, Affleck definitely watched Heat before making this. I feel that i'm coming across as bashing the film, i enjoyed it, hadn't i'd seen Heat, i'd love The Town.
ima go old school and say Do The Right Thing... Also another one by Spike Malcolm X. American Gangster should have been nominated for best picture and denzel for best actor.... I was disappointed by The Town. I really didn't think it was all that good.
Yeah I agree Denzel should've been nominated for best actor, and it probably should've been nominated for best picture instead of Michael Clayton. With The Town, I think it was snubbed completely. While not amazing, it definitely was better than a lot of other films that got nominated and that won this year.
