If it's crap... We'll tell you

Not so long ago, I finished reading Batman: The Long Halloween, and for some reason, while the story was good, I felt a little bit unsatisfied and dissapointed, since I felt the story was a little overrated. Little did I know that that story had a sequel, Batman: Dark Victory.

Not expecting much from it, I began reading it in TPB form yesterday, and much to my surprise, I am liking it a lot more than I did The Long Halloween. It just feels more like a Batman story to me, and the way it presents a devastated and isolated Batman since Harvey Dent became Two Face feels more real and human, something I felt The Long Halloween failed to accomplish.

So, for those of you that have read both tales, which one do you like the most?

While Dark Victory was good too, I didn't think it was as enjoyably epic as The Long Halloween.

I love Long Halloween... But for the love of god, I have never encountered such a muddled mess of a "twist ending!"

Please, if anyone can adequately explain WHO was the holiday killer don't hesitate to message me!

I actually see The Long Halloween more as a story about how the Gotham City criminal underworld made a transition from the Mob and organized crime to the insane Rogues Gallery of psychos like The Joker and Two Face.

Because, to be honest, the Holiday killer "mistery" was lame, it was practically unsolvable and the ending of the book was ambiguous and ridiculous to say the least, it made no sense whatsoever!

I don't really like one more than the other. I read the first half of Dark Victory, realized I was supposed to read Long Halloween first and did, then read the second half of Dark Victory. I see it all as one good story.

Long Halloween had a more compelling plot.

I think I enjoyed "The Long Halloween" more. To be honest, I should go back and read both of them, as its been awhile since I picked them up.
