On the 15th day of March 1972, the world of cinema was changed forever. Ranking 2nd but internationally considered the greatest film in movie history, Francis Ford Coppola's film adaption of Mario Puzo's novel...'The Godfather' situated itself as a true American classic. Distributed by Paramount Pictures and filmed on a budget of a mere 6.5mil, 'The Godfather' went on to gross a worldwide total of 268.5mil at box offices. The film also solidified the careers of (a then unknown) Al Pacino, James Caan & Robert Duvall, also earning Marlon Brando Oscar gold. Influencing countless that followed, from movies to television and even real life, 'The Godfather' whether it be described as a masterpiece or classic, it will forever reign as the crown jewel of all the cinematic treasures.

An absolute masterpiece. Part I and II are the best American movies ever made.
