I was just having a discussion with some mates and I got around to asking; do you think the legal drinking age in your country is fair? Here in Australia the legal age is 18 and I know its 21 in the US and I think it's actually 16 in some European countries (thought I might be mistaken). Anyways, what do you think? Is the legal age in your country too high or too low?

i would keep it at 30.
i would keep it where it is, its more the culture that needs to change. in europe there is a more free attitude towards drinking, it is not uncommon for a child to have a glass of wine with a meal or something like that, but from all the europeans i have meet in my life, and the times i have visited europe, you hardly find any teenagers out drinking, like you would in england, for a week i spent in north italy near venice we went out almost every night and the only places which was even close to be full was a bar full of other brits. some people can't handle drink so it is better for them to start later when they are more mature.

one thing i agree with is having the age to drive younger than that of drink so even if you are stupid enough to drink and drink you would have been doing it for a few years, here in england they are the same and i think they should lower the age of driving before they lower the drinking age.

also from personal experience the drinking age is not cast iron, i have been drinking since i was 14 and could get served then till i was 16 then it got a lot stricter, and even though i am 21 i still get ID in certain place due to the 'if you look younger than 21' rule we have in this country which means you need to show ID.

i do think that 21 is way to old to set as a drink age but 18 is acceptable.
Here in america, drinking is too much of a problem to lower the age. Kids will drink at a younger age if they really want anyway, drinking is no problem, they just can't buy it. By the time someone is 21, they are over it or have already developed a responsible attitude towards drinking.
Yeah we never had a problem getting beer in high school. Just give a homeless dude $20 to grab you a case, and you're set.
my mates and I just got our hot female friends to get us our alcohol, till I grew a beard at 16 and just got served most places.
Well, some people think teenagers drink heavily (and get drunk and get in fatal car accidents) BECAUSE the drinking age is so high. Since they can't just have a drink with dinner every night like their parents, they tend to load up on as much alcohol as they can whenever they gain access to it (like at a party). In countries where the drinking age is lower, they don't have as much alcohol-related fatalities. My friends used to drink heavily at parties until they turned 21, and once they hit the legal drinking age, they actually started to cool off. Heck, I only get myself a six-pack every other week, or so.
in scotland you can get married at 16 but you can't drink/smoke/vote till you're 18 how fucked is that
I am currently in Canada(niagra falls) and the drinking age is 18 and i can't tell you how annoying some of these younger drunks are.
Legalize weed instead.
It's better for you.
I've been saying this for a while, and I'll say it again:

"If you're old enough to go to war, you're old to drink."

That said, we need to lower the age thing to 18.
In the US it should match the same age they're allowed to be in the military. they can either raise enlistment age to 21 or lower the drinking age to 18. It just doesn't make sense that someone is old enough to kill/be killed and drive a tank but not old enough to puke on himself at the end of a good night.
I think 21 is a bit much and a 19 year limit is just fine. If you lower it to 18, you have to deal with drinking in high school, but with 19 you have the graduates going into college and a few kids sent back a grade able to drink legally.
