The Dark Knight Rises first picture of Tom Hardy as Bane
Spoilers. If you don't want to know what bane looks like it would be best to stop reading now. I don't want people complaining to me that this spoiled things for them if they don't have strong enough will power to ignore posts like this. Since Warner Bros. announced the official start of the filming of The Dark Knight Rises the site of the dark Knight Rises went online but at the moment it's just a black screen but some sites actually found a picture of Tom hardy as Bane. I personally really liked the way he looked because it reminded me partly of Hannibal Lecter's mask. I am really thrilled right now because I was afraid they would go down the road of Batman and Robin with the introducing too many villains plot; And hardy is actually big. What do you guys think? Is this what you were expecting? Does this change your previous opinion on The Dark Knight Rises?

I'm glad he's not the Wrestler type figure like in the movie that shall not be mentioned, but I'm curious to know more about the upcoming plot, especially Bane's involvement.

Well my theory is that "Prey" is still the main source because it has Catwoman and some vigilante called "Night Scourge" in it who is committing crimes on orders of Hugo Strange so as to frame Batman. Of course, Nolan could do the one thing no other director has ever attempted: Bane killing (or at least breaking) batman. While this would not be suitable for children, it would be a great way for Gordon to become the hero.

Considering the previous movies, I doubt Nolan worries about it being suitable for children. I think it's going to be very interesting how he decides to do the plot without the expected villains like the Riddler, and to be quite honest, I was hoping for a Knightfall type of movie. That way, you could have Bane break Batman's back and if you really wanted to, could introduce Robin in order to help the broken Batman, or insert him at the end of the movie. That way technically, Robin wasn't in the series, but you have to have something to sign off on.

To be honest, i am not all that thrilled of seeing Robin in any live -action batman film anytime soon. Nolan refused to bring him into the series because he understands that Robin is just a character that is to make the stories suitable for children because if you look at the great batman stories like "Arkham Asylum: A serious House on Serious Earth", "Year One", "The Killing Joke" they are all stories that essentially center on batman and having robin in there cracking jokes all the time would take away from the seriousness of the film. My hunch is that catwoman and batman will team up at the end of the film to beat Bane. That way you could still have catwoman be an anti-heroine/villainess but at the same time follow the Knightfall story. Come to think of it Nolan's batman films have told us that only Bruce Wayne can do what he does and since adults die in his films it is unlikely that Nolan's batman would allow a kid to fight by his side.

You can even see the spot where the tube is going into the mask. The cool addition here is the teeth-like mouthpiece. maybe Nolan decided to mix Killer Croc and Bane together in that Bane is so savage that he actually is a cannibal and they need to put that mask on him so as to restrain him? I think that would actually be pretty cool.
