The biggest problem with DEC and things like Blade Runner's Director's Cut laserdisc release

What most people really overlook is the long term problem with Director’s and Extended Cuts. With all of this content being cut out by editors or removed from the final product to be repackaged as DEC, what's going to happen when they eventually drop support for DVD/BluRay for this generation? It's all going to be lost with time. We've already seen this with movies on the original Betamax. If this trend continues, and more and more content is taken out of movies in an attempt to "kill used movies" or to make a few extra dollars from customers, even if you watched in theatres or have a player to watch this content you're fucked. It's not going to matter when the Studio/DVD/BluRay stop supporting these services. In the future, we won't even be able to experience the full movies we're enjoying now like we do on the players of generations past. (At least not through legal means.)  It really makes me envy them Hard Drive storers.

Even if you support studios by watching movies on release or purchasing DEC, eventually you're going to get fucked in the ass just like pirates or people who buy home media...

I for one, want to be able to go back years from now and replay my favorite movies or movies that I missed this gen.  I'm not saying not to buy new movies or DEC, but "viewers" seriously need to fucking grow a backbone and show those big studios that pump out movies now that this shit isn't okay before this gen (and most likely next gen if film making continues on it's current path) becomes unsalvagable. Don't support editing/extending content for DEC bullshit.

Dont be sensible, speak out of your arse.
