I'd love to not bash hip hop. I had a talk with a friend about it earliler. There were good things, but fuck me! There is more bad things about it. So when Hip Hop stops sucking it's own dick and man's up to the way it used to be. Then I will once again fully embrace it.

I have no doubt that hip hop has much deeper music than 50-cent and everything else on MTV. The problem is that is what people like me (one who doesn't actively listen to hip hop) hear is the stuff thats all about bitches, money and guns. If the music industry tried advertising this deeper hip hop, maybe I'd appreciate the genre more.

The music industry doesn't care about the state of Hip Hop... it just sees how much money it can make by feeding people crap music that has repetitive lyrics that get stuck in their heads and want to listen to it more and more.

That can also be said about the people who like that crap.

Problem is "deeper music" isn't as marketable as this;


Though, I thought this applies to almost all genres of music(pop, rock, etc.).
