GodDamnRobots posted a statusso I fired up my Steam to play some "Skyrim" and it auto updated itself to a new version with a new icon in the upper right hand corner called "the big picture" I clicked on it and a new User Interface came up that was designed to used with my Joypad..
I already have my PC connected to my big screen so the first part was already done. so now to try out the browser and game menues with the new Joypad friendly UI
very well done smooth interface , and nice layout I really liked the whole setup I'm galde to see steam trying to move into console territory for once . I'm still no fan of either Play Station or Xbox as I think they both take away from game development by insisting on exclusives for there systems and introducing horrid scams like launch day DLC maybe this is the start of a move in the right direction for PC gaming ,

Permalink Reply by Wizpig on December 4, 2012 at 1:46am I've always liked steam for promoting games that aren't from the big developers and giving them a chance. I don't regret some of the small scale games I bought on there and the fact that they also have very nice sales is also a plus. Now that they are making this move I might even get to open my tv screen for once and dust off my remote.

Permalink Reply by frank zop on February 14, 2013 at 8:56am I just saw an ad for a the "Xi3 Piston" rumor is Valve has invested in the company and is working with them on a possible Steambox modular PC in the future which some speculate will have a lot in common with the piston.
More rumors about the actual steambox is it will run Linux and use Open GL as it's rendering Api.
Other news that seems to contradict everything is that valve has let go a large part of it's development team including Android ans hardware developers .
They did design a really slick controller that Valve applied for a patent on
If anything I hope to see it manufactured and released for retail sale,
It's a joy-pad like controller that features removable joysticks that are interchangeable with mini trackballs .
it looks like it would be a great alternative for FPS style games that feel clunky when used with a joy-pad.
