So apparently a lot of people didn't like the Spawn movie a couple of years ago. I really liked it but I think it could have been better, so I've been looking forward to this reboot.
Spawn is one of if not THE darkest and most badass comic book hero out there. There is a lot of potential here.
The project code name has been known on the internet as Spawn 2, so that's why I'm not sure if it's a reboot like the Hulk or Batman Begins where everyone pretends the first one never happened, or just a regular sequel. I'd be happy either way.
Anyway- though I've been hearing rumors about this movie for years, this project has not left footprints anywhere. There is no script, no director, nothing. Is it ever going to happen?
Use this board to discuss anything Spawn movie related.
But preferably let's talk more about the new movie than the old one. Anyone have any news about it?
I knew what spawn was, but didn't really know wtf was about. I saw the movie and loved it, til i read a few comics, and eventually just the outline of the series.. and wow, movie did NO justice.
Needs a total Reboot imo, but with mother fucking sam jackson.
Ok maybe not, but i wouldn't mind samual l jackson. :D
Todd wants to direct the movie now with a low budget and Todd McFarlane says with the recent success of Iron Man and The Dark Knight there been renewed interest in another Spawn flick.
Todd McFarlane is a amazing writer and I think he can pull it off then it make almost as good as The Dark Knight. The HBO series was amazing and it won two Primetime Emmys.
Spawn was an ok movie when i first watched it (i was 13). Then as i got older i relised how shit it was! Michael Jai White's Spawn is nothing compared to the HBO series Spawn!
SPAWN 2 = REBOOT
P.S. No i don't wanna see Michael Jai White back as Spawn!

I think he was fine, he looked good, and he did well with what he was given, but i think he was just written poorly in the movie. With a better script I think he'd be okay, but I'm not totally opposed to a cast change. who would you want to do it? Gotta be somebody with a good voice.
As a fan of the once great comic book by the genius todd mcfarlane I would have to say this is unfilmable. The living red cape, the malebolgia, I don't see this movie working unless they get a big budget and a great script. I just don't see either of those things happening. The scene in hell where Spawn fights a cartoon is what ruined the original for me. The only thing that could have made that scene funnier was if the malebolgia started dancing around in a top hat like the little puppet alien at the end of spaceballs.
