I have NOT had TV for 4 years, 5 years or so. Been streaming and watching my DVDs/VHS since then. It's been good. Watched the footah last night. Which was nice. Good penalty. Strawberries and cream, flicking between the tennis. Actually.
Anyway, I am now in the market for a VHS player, so I can rewatch classics like Love Liza, Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself, Stone Cold Steve Austin; Legend of the Ring, and many other classic things.
I watched the Avengers online, I loved it, I watched Scott Pilgrim online when it came out. I couldn't get past half an hour.
I'm just not sure if I'm missing something, when I looked through EMpires best movies of 2010/2011 some things struck me. I haven't seen any of these movies. I think I've seen almost all of them from 2006-2009. Also that I have no way of acquiring these movies, because if I do ever find them in a store, they are uber priced and I can't be bothered to pay out for them.
I'm not sure what my point is, is the Hollywood ballsack now selling Steven Spielberg tones, moods and atmospheres for the sake of making us all remember to eat Popcorn?
Some how it seems to me that EVERYONE that isn't me is somehow really dis-satisfied and I am supposed to somehow show or tell them how to gain the enlightenment and happiness I have. I'm really bored of it.
To close, I have come up with an equation, teh theory if you will. Basically, now, age is kind of irrelevant. You could get pwned by an 11yr old or a 66 yr old online and never know it, you don't know what kind of cool things people do or don't know at all. I figure that basically, some people have already stopped, they have their little life, they don't want change and it suits them to just never create anything new and follow the trends the creative people set. We'll call those people the living dead.
Then there are the creative people who are making things for themselves, creating their own mainstream as Cyrus says, entertaining themselves in whatever specific, perverted, fascinating, loud, whatever way they want. We'll call them, Innovators.
Finally there are the people who have made or have such a large proportion of the wealth that they don't have to contribute to society at all, in any meaningful way. They can go out and commit civil disobediences, start business, get into Vigilante Justice, literally do whatever they want. They never have to be a apart of anything they don't like and they can buy and own any creator of something they enjoy, to become creators themselves. They're like liquid .. so we'll call them The Fluid Mass.
So if there is a Fluid Mass controlling the means of creating, Innovators creating anyway (not in the hope of atrracting mass) and then the Living Dead , effectively we need to just keep producing product that the Living Dead will accept and quietly enjoy till they all die, so we can all start creating something better.
A real world we can all live in for as long as space and our intellect can sustain us.
I fucking hate ignorant self righteous morons who tell me what Im supposed to think.
Have a great one.

Permalink Reply by Einrick Quiznos on May 20, 2012 at 9:09am I'm not sure what I just read. However, this is too good to pass on. I'd like to give you a strangers review on what you just wrote, because it is indeed amazing:
" I'm not sure what my point is, is the Hollywood ballsack now selling Steven Spielberg tones, moods and atmospheres for the sake of making us all remember to eat Popcorn? "
I'm not sure what your point is either, but I liked this line. This statement is also poignant to your essay on the "living dead", as it marks exactly where this thing goes off track.(ps, I can only think of one movie that's essentially tried to copy the Steven Spielberg atmosphere in the obvious way, and that's Super 8. If you're noticing other movies that do this, than maybe you're not seeing enough movies)
" Some how it seems to me that EVERYONE that isn't me is somehow really dis-satisfied and I am supposed to somehow show or tell them how to gain the enlightenment and happiness I have. I'm really bored of it. "
I don't find this arrogant in the LEAST. I shall patiently wait for you to shower us with your wisdom, so that we may become enlightened.
"To close, I have come up with an equation, teh theory if you will."
I was disappointed reading the lines after this; because there was no equation. You tease, you.
" Basically, now, age is kind of irrelevant. You could get pwned by an 11yr old or a 66 yr old online and never know it, you don't know what kind of cool things people do or don't know at all."
This makes no sense. But I am enjoying this...
"I figure that basically, some people have already stopped, they have their little life, they don't want change and it suits them to just never create anything new and follow the trends the creative people set. We'll call those people the living dead. "
Ahhh! I see now where this is heading. If only I had the power to "know" things the way you do, sir.
" Then there are the creative people who are making things for themselves, creating their own mainstream as Cyrus says, entertaining themselves in whatever specific, perverted, fascinating, loud, whatever way they want. We'll call them, Innovators."
No, we call them artists. But please, do continue...
" Finally there are the people who have made or have such a large proportion of the wealth that they don't have to contribute to society at all, in any meaningful way. "
I'll cut you some slack and agree with you a little here(mainly because I'm enjoying this view of business you have...it's like listening to a person high on marijuana trying to decipher how the business world works in conjunction with the meaning of life and society. It's gold).
" They can go out and commit civil disobediences, start business, get into Vigilante Justice, literally do whatever they want."
I believe you are describing Batman. But please do continue...
" They never have to be a apart of anything they don't like and they can buy and own any creator of something they enjoy, to become creators themselves. They're like liquid .. so we'll call them The Fluid Mass. "
Liquid and Fluid Mass: Oh yeah. Someone is definitely high.
" So if there is a Fluid Mass controlling the means of creating, Innovators creating anyway (not in the hope of atrracting mass) and then the Living Dead , effectively we need to just keep producing product that the Living Dead will accept and quietly enjoy till they all die, so we can all start creating something better. "
Fucking brilliance in a bottle...
" A real world we can all live in for as long as space and our intellect can sustain us."
I think we already live there. With the inclusion of time, It's called reality.
"I fucking hate ignorant self righteous morons who tell me what Im supposed to think."
Umm...where is this coming from again? You didn't quite mention anything about people forcing anything on you. The living dead thing was mentioned as people who CHOOSE to follow trends. They are "content" with it, as you say. So where is this forced belief statement stemming from? Again, this shit is bananas.
" Have a great one."
I'll try if I can, enlightened one.
In retrospect, I can honestly say my life has turned around for the better after I finished reading this. Hollywood is bad. Innovators create things, and everyone else are practically zombies. This sums up human society...that, or this was just done for shits and giggles. Either way, I felt I was entertained. And that's all that matters.
*grabs popcorn and watches Steven Spielberg films*

The only thing I wanna say in reply to the replies is that I didn't mean that enlightenment thing as a downer, I hear theres a new spider man movie and I get excited for no reason at all. It makes me happy that little things like that excite me still, despite being older than 12.
But then I go to talk to someone else (this may just be England) and all I hear is, 'oh god, I hope they don't fuck it up like Sam Raimi' .. so I went out and bought all the Spider Man films I know of, for less than £3.00 for all them (2 of them special editions) and was duely over joyed.
I've digressed, I just still like movies and I wish I could catch more of the really good ones. Basically.
>_> it's prolly better to ignore me really.
