Through the history of film, most people followed one of the golden rule of movies. Don't show kids dying in gruesome deaths/or at all in your movie. Well i'm guessing it's a golden rule. I mean who wants to see a cute little kid get shot in the face or get axed by some mask killer. In  most movies kids from the age of 0 to 14 usually never die. The reason  while i'm talking about this is because I recently watched the movie Feast, and in the movie Feast, I saw a kid getting eaten alive by some gruesome monster. I mean you hear the kid scream and see him kicking as he gets eaten alive. I found it to be horrible to see something like that happen. I know it's just a movie, but thats taking it too far. I can't watch any kid die like that in a movie, having little brothers at that age. So what do you think?

The witch burnings were mainly a European phenomenon. We did have it in the states for a bit, but nothing like the homeland. Nice try though.

Give it time.

A couple of my favorite films have broken this golden rule. In Bruges, and Trainspotting have it in there, two instances of effective shock value. The Darjeeling Limited used it effectively to show brothers coming together. Gone Baby Gone, which is pretty much what the story is about, and "The Bad Seed" which needs to be watched because you don't see the kids dying brutally, but they do.

I also remember "Secret life of Altar Boys" having a kid killed by a tiger, but I can't remember if that was effective or not.

It's awful I guess, but kid killing in movies does not really offend me unless they are way too obvious about it. But cat and dog killing does. I mean really, FUCK BOONDOCKS SAINTS!

IT'S JUST A MOVIE!

That scene was fucking hilarious. And then a few minutes later one of them is trying to cover up the blood stain by taping a piece of paper over it.

If it had been a little kid, it might have been more funny.

Why aren't I what?

Exactly.

i left it for somone else to bring up but since none of you did here it is

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha love the choice in music as well makes me laugh even harder

I won't recommend Nekromantik then cough cough.

You shouldn't watch American Psycho then.
