GodDamnRobots posted a statusThrough the history of film, most people followed one of the golden rule of movies. Don't show kids dying in gruesome deaths/or at all in your movie. Well i'm guessing it's a golden rule. I mean who wants to see a cute little kid get shot in the face or get axed by some mask killer. In most movies kids from the age of 0 to 14 usually never die. The reason while i'm talking about this is because I recently watched the movie Feast, and in the movie Feast, I saw a kid getting eaten alive by some gruesome monster. I mean you hear the kid scream and see him kicking as he gets eaten alive. I found it to be horrible to see something like that happen. I know it's just a movie, but thats taking it too far. I can't watch any kid die like that in a movie, having little brothers at that age. So what do you think?

Permalink Reply by Candy Tarantula on June 4, 2012 at 1:43pm I agree one hundred percent. But unfortunately, most people will show this sort of content just for a shock factor.

Permalink Reply by Ohstate411 on June 4, 2012 at 3:17pm If it serves the story I agree. Like in the game Heavy Rain, Ethan's son died and it served the plot, or in the first Max Payne game. A bad example is in the movie Planet Terror. What was the point of all that?

Permalink Reply by Artie Fufkin on June 4, 2012 at 6:23pm One of my all time favourite movies (jaws) lets you know what's in store when the kid gets it on the airbed which is great i think, means they aint fucking about, even in god bless america at the start it was justifed as well as beutifully handled. so why shouldn't kids get it in movies, if they can be the object of terror such as both village and children of the damned, children of the corn and eden lake? if kids can be portrayed as evil incarnate they should be allowed to be butchered in my opinion. AFTER ALL THEY ARE ONLY MOVIES ARE THEY NOT?

Permalink Reply by steven cowie on June 6, 2012 at 6:40am Wont recommend A Serbian Film then. Seriously though, watch the French film Ils (Them) and see if you change your mind. Plus youre referring to mostly American films, where a worse crime is to shoot a dog it seems.
Plus you watched Feast. what did you expect?
Permalink Reply by Ohstate411 on June 8, 2012 at 3:25pm I've seen A Serbian Film and it was terrible. New born porn?!
Permalink Reply by Stephen Quentin Easton on June 6, 2012 at 7:06am Another movie in which a kid dies is The Blob remake.
I must admit I really dislike kids being killed in gratuitous and sadistic ways in movies to the point I'll skip the movie. I certainly won't be watching Feast.
I am disliking modern horror movies more and more, many are high on sadism and low on plot. I suppose it's only to be expected in a age where state sanctioned torture is legal in America again. I wonder when the witch burnings will start up again.
