I've seen quite a few people declare someone's artwork bad,not because it was poorly made or sloppy, because it was either considered "fetish art",controversial,or something they simply didn't like what the picture was of. Is this fair judgement to think, even though someone put their hard work into whatever they drew/painted/edited/whatever'd,that just because it's of a subject not everyone approves of it's automatically fair to call the artwork "bad?"

I'd really like to know how others feel about this.

Subject speaks more than quality in my opinion.

I think the problem you're seeing stems more from people not grasping that it's possible not to like good art.  They're really two separate criteria.  For example, I can like a poorly picture because it has a subject that I like, for example robots, but I still understand that it is not good art.  On the other hand, I understand and recognize Led Zepplin's music as being good, and how it influenced the music that came after it, but I don't like listening to it.  I think part of being mentally mature is being able to distinguish that difference.

... Why not both?

I just noticed you are holding a poptart....

I would say the best kind of poptart.

Ive always disliked the Smores. Brown Sugar doesn't do it for me, but the sprinkled strawberry kind are my favorites.

This man speaks the truth brown sugar poptarts are the superior poptart

You're all nuts. The obvious best is Wild Berry.

This is why you're old.

i think this is the fastest a forum has gone off topic.

but should a pop tart be judged by its quality or its subject matter?

You should see the Maverick posts. We go from subject to this in seconds.

Somehow my wife got me a couple of boxes Wild Berry flown in yesterday. I love that woman.
