If it's crap... We'll tell you

Ok, since it's release people have been tearing this film a new one. Why? Well, frankly I have no idea.

Now okay, I know its a Michael Bay movie, so of course theres going to be mindless popcorn fun.
But people are taking this way to seriosuly, sure the film has alot of problems, but that doesn't make it bad. See, after the firsrt Transformers movie came out, it was awesome, but the audience wanted more Robots, and more Action, so thats exactly what they got, and there still complaining.

Still after getting what they wanted, they still bitch, whine and moan about it saying theres no Character Development or you can't take it serious.

Do you really expect a deep, moving,Character study? If you do,.....then your retarted.
Back in the 80s, was the TV show ever deep? No cause people wanted to see action, and that was what they got. No one wants to sit through a 2 and a half hour movie full of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee and Ratchet sitting and saying how much they miss Cybertron. So just have fun, and enjoy the movie for what its worth. It isn't perfect, but then again no movie is, even The Dark Knight had a few problems.

All I can say is if you went into this thing expecting something more than a semi mindless blockbuster, then you are deluded. If you came into this thinking this better be how I pictured my beloved Transformers in film form, then you need to get out of your mom's basement. Whoever you are...
I never played with the toys, I never watched the show, yet I went even after seeing the first one. This one wasn't horrible, but it isn't my kind of movie. I just figured I'd see it since I'd seen everything else. It was better than the first, and I'm sure there will be another now. I thought it was a little dirty for the little kiddies that surely came out in droves to see it.
Now hurry up and get He Man going...

If you're talking about Transformers as a whole, I disagree. Anything can be done well regardless of the origins of the source material. A perfect example is Batman. I mean everyone knew him as some extremely corny character played by Adam West on TV. And what happened? Talented writers took him and made him what he is today. So I don't think that because Transformers is about a group of machines that can transform in cars, that a film based on them can't be good.

If you're talking about Michael Bay's Transformers, then you're absolutely correct. In fact the movie managed to be worse than I thought it would be.

"sure the film has alot of problems, but that doesn't make it bad"

Actually yes it does mean it's bad, especially if the majority of the problems are based around the plot, the humor(if you're over 12 it's horrible) and the characters (jesus christ how many were comedy relief characters). There is only a few times where I'll say that a certain movie is objectively bad, and this is one of those films.

"but the audience wanted more Robots, and more Action, so thats exactly what they got, and there still complaining."
What people wanted was the film to focus on the transformers as main characters, which is something the first movie didn't do and the second movie still didn't do. The transformers were still minor characters in their own story. Most of the main Transformers from the first film are degraded into saying shit like, "Punk ass decepticons" Optimus Prime is only in the movie for like 20 minutes before he dies. The decepticons are still generic as all hell, and the transformers that get the most amount of screen time are the Pesci Bot and the Wigger bots. And everyone hates them.

"o you really expect a deep, moving,Character study? If you do,.....then your retarted."
Apparently you are also, "retarted"

"Back in the 80s, was the TV show ever deep?"
And your point? What you're saying is that because the show was made for children in order to get them to buy action figures, then it's alright for a $200 million dollar film to be shit simply because, "well the cartoon wasn't that great so it's totally alright for a film to be shit." Then I guess by that logic we shouldn't have expected DKR, or the Tim Burton Batman films, or Christopher Nolan's batman to be good since at one point Batman appeared on a scooby-doo cartoon and had a live action tv series where Batman had a spray can of Shark Repellent.

ANYTHING CAN BE DONE WELL REGARDLESS OF THE SOURCE MATERIAL. Look at that new G.I. Joe cartoon that was on Adult Swim. Warren Ellis took a show that was pretty campy and turned it into something awesome and had Cobra commit genocide. If a group of talented writers and a talented director who had respect for the franchise made a Transformers film, there's a good chance that not only would it have been "fun" (though Transformers 2 was anything but fun) but it would have been good as well. Sadly we get this piece of shit from a hack director, but it's totally a good film because it's "fun."

The only thing OP has settled is proving that he's part of the audience that people like Michael Bay appeal towards. Complete, fucking morons.

What wasthat all about?

I don't know, but I still like the Movie. Even though its dumb and even more stupid than the first. So I guess that makes me a stupid Person.

But before this discussion is over, is the Movie absolutley horrible in every way?

It doesn't make you a stupid person. It makes you a human being. It's fine to love a bad movie for your own reasons. As long as you admit it's a bad movie. It's like me with the movie Norbit. Norbit is a BAD movie but I love that movie for my own two reasons:

1. I Love Eddie Murphay

2. The movie made me laugh HARD!

But it's still a bad movie. You can love a bad movie but you do have to admit it's a bad movie. Just because most people hate a movie doesn't mean you should follow. Just try to understand why it's a bad movie and understand why people hate it.

and as for your other question dude..uh....I'll just show you my review: http://my.spill.com/profiles/blogs/thebeastreviews-i-transformers

Sorry, I'm just lazy

sorry, gizzle, but it's hard to enjoy a movie when you have unfunny comic relief and some untalented hacks spouting out lines instead of "acting," which is what their job description entails. maybe something resembling a story is what we enjoy, and that's not what Bay decided to give us. he decided to give us dogs (and robots) humping, old white men in thongs, and gigantic robot balls.
