Personally I hated Rose the most. The only two in new Who I've liked are Rory and Donna.

Thank fuck Rosita in The Next Doctor was only a companion to the false Doctor. Even worse at acting than Freema Agyeman and that's quite an achievement.

I think I'd like Rory if he actually contributed. So many episodes just have him shuffling about in the background or sitting on something.

Rory by himself HAS proven to be a bit of a badass. As stupid as the Centurion stuff is, kicking Cybermen ass WITH A GLADIUS automatically rates you as a bad-ass. Also, that episode involving The Flesh shows he not has strong personal convictions, but he's even capable of going against That Bitch to follow them.

Getting rid of Amy would be the best thing to happen to Rory.

I just learned Caroline John passed away last month. Not a favourite or long lasting companion but a very nice person by all accounts.

Ah, Liz Shaw. Unfortunate character, she was created for the Third Doctor as an intellectual equal to him, someone to match him point for point in the science areas...and had a healthy dose of sarcasm to boot. Somewhat of a Romana prototype.

Pity. She had a good run and I liked the her character, despite having such a short time on-screen.
