Permalink Reply by Mark Johnston on September 19, 2012 at 1:23pm I feel like I'm in the minority when I say that I think it looks - fine. This is a day and age where suits are mostly CG and unrealistic. This suit on the other hand looks like it fits perfectly because this is a modernized cyborg police unit. It looks slick and maneuverable, exactly how a cyborg should be. Robocop is supposed to work in a highly hazardous area that allows him to function as much like a human as humanly possible. So it makes sense that he doesn't look like an invariably mechanical chunk of metal.
Plus, we're not even looking at the final product. Look at what's going on... they're practicing. They're trying it out. And as you can also see, he's not even wearing the entire outfit. Who is to say that they won't add in some secondary colors or perhaps some LED lights to make it look more "powered on"?
Robocop is one of my all time favorite movies, and I still think this costume looks fine - especially for a behind the scenes pic. Remember when we first saw the Thor outfit? People were shitting their pants and the movie turned out just fine.
Another reason why I like this is because it looks --- DIFFERENT. If the outfit was closer to the original look, people would still bitch about it. The suit looks fine, even though it's not even finished.
