I was just thinking: Now that a remake of Clash of the Titans is coming, I was thinking about a remake of Jason and the Argonauts.
I think there could be, if Clash is a big boxoffice hit. What do you think.
It does not actually depend on if the movie is successful, just profitable enough to get the OK on the project. IF Clash is a decent film (odds are against but you never know), then Jason and the Argonauts would be the logical next step.
Here's another question to add to that...do we REALLY want to re-make it? If so, does this mean we are promoting Hollywood's continual graverobbing of old films in leu of developing new original ones?
As for graverobbing that dam has burst and there's no stemming the tide now....
Personally I've made peace with the fact that remakes are gonna happen....I don't care if it's original material or not anymore, what still frosts me though is the amount of absolute rotgut being sold off as "entertainment". Remake Citizen Kane if you want, just make it good for crying out loud.
But I'm not holding my breath....not too excited about any of 'em....
