Yeah, that's like candy to us. The majority of Spillios here look at that and see fresh meat. Usually, most of us would just leave you alone and let the bromy member comment, but throwing up a qualifier and a 'No Haterz Allowed' sign is just ASKING for some member to dessend upon you like the Wrath of God and take great pleasure in tearing this up.I hope they don't...but I've been here too long not to pass a warning. Hi I'm Roboto, I don't have a favourite pony outside of the mane six and I don't really know a lot about them either. My favourites of the main six are Pinkie Pie and Rarity, if they were human, Pinkie would probably be an airhead bimbo and Rarity would obviously be a high maintenance chick into fashion and make up, so that would make her my type if she were human!
I like TV that takes it's time to develop characters and their world and make it interesting, that's why I like shows like Mad Men but frankly the majority of animated shows are pretty bland and disappointing, which is why I like this show, the writing is simple but quite effective. I like how each pony is a stereotype but when they interact we get some pretty creative stories.

You know, that's one thing that's always gotten to me about these sorts of shows. Maybe I'm missing a lot of character depth that you'd only understand by watching the show (I don't hate MLP, I've just never really watched it), but I feel it's often the case that the characters will represent one specific personality type. Each girl is her own purely unique shade of crayon without shades of anything else. It just seems like a really lazy way to make a character by creating a/an "[insert adjective]" type following a list of typical traits associated with that type.
Then again, maybe I just read way too much into children's cartoons... >_>

Actually you're very correct, each character in the show is a super simplified mono personality type, the smart one, the tomboy, the airhead, the fashionista, the cowgirl and the shy one, but when the different personality types interact in different situations it makes for some interesting stories.
The stories are obviously for young girls but that doesn't make them bad. This show has more character development than Transformers, G.I.Joe, He-Man and ThunderCATS ever did!
