Owen Wilson, Adrian Brody, and Jason Schwartzman all work great together in Darjeeling. Fun film. Also see if the DVD has Anderson's short Hotel Chevalier (which has a naked Natalie Portman).

I think Moonrise Kingdom is Anderson's best (the romance between the two kids is wonderful). It's my favorite film of the year so far. But the two you recently rated can also be argued to be his best. I love him. I hope you like Fantastic Mr. Fox, fucking hilarious.

I also hope Moonrise arrives wherever you are. SOON

Yeah, it's included (I own the Criterion bluray), so yay to Natalie Portman.

The worst part is that I've been in United States twice in the last month, but I didn't have the chance to watch it. I really hope we get a release date soon.

well done for braving it my little soldier! great film innit?

You´re right. The clitoris scene is much worse.

In the Mood for Love

Cape Fear

Is it just me, or does this feels like a De Palma film?

Anyway, I thought it was pretty good, extremely entertaining (and sometimes downright scary) with great acting from Lange, Lewis and Nolte, but De Niro steals the show (it's a really showy role, but he nails it). The highlight for me would be the cinematography and set design which gave the film a fairy tale look, so the campiness doesn't feel out of place since the whole movie has an otherworldly feel. Hell, the last 20 minutes are Night of the Hunter meets Deliverance.

It might not be one of Scorsese's best, but it's damn good fun.

Full Price

Agreed completely. Well put about the final 20 min being Night of the Hunter and Deliverance.

The most frightening part for me was when De Niro and Lewis were all alone on the school theater stage. The whole time I kept thinking he was gonna, well, I better not say. It puts those dark thoughts and fears in your head.

As for myself...

Once Upon a Time in America

The 4 hour version. Flew by fast. Well paced, violent as hell (the first 20 minutes has one of the best headshots I've ever witnessed), beautiful score, good performances (especially by De Niro when playing the old man), and a heartbreaking conclusion.

La Dolce Vita (re-watch)

Haha, yeah that's a pretty thrilling scene.

And I agree completely about Once Upon a Time in America, an absolute beauty of a film.

The Amazing Spiderman. Soulless drivel, and an insult to boot. -10/10.

The Dark Shite Rises. Even though i enjoyed parts of this (mainly the parts with AH, that bum....sighs wistfully and drifts off into reverie.......AHEM......) I feel that if I never see another cape film again, I won't be heartbroken...Very Very Very Low Full Price

The Iron Man cartoon we watched at mates was the most entertaining representation of this genre (even if he didn't drink at all in it) this weekend.
