Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting had scenes with outhouses and toilets filled with shit. The outhouse scene in Headhunters takes the cake for me.
I didn't see the director's cut. Not sure how much difference it would make. Is there more Thewlis?

The Director´s Cut is soooo much better!

Amen. But I love Thewlis, so I want to know.

I agree Chucky G, the director's cut version of Kingdom Of Heaven is truly superior to the theatrical cut. Too bad there isn't any plans for a re-release for Kingdom Of Heaven (Director's Cut).

Can't believe you didn't like The Day of the Locust, I love that film

To it's credit, its one of the few films I actually like Donald Sutherland in.

I watched Locust because I saw how much you loved it. Personally, I felt really uncomfortable watching it. Every shot looked so foreign, it felt otherworldly like. It's that insane movie I just can't embrace or be enthusiastic for. It reminded me of Mulholland Dr...

I can't find any actual fault with it, just made me shrink in my seat and want to leave.
I can understand that, I think that feel of discomfort was the director's intention, but I understand you not enjoying it. It definitely has a similar feel to Mulholland Dr.
Well, at least you gave it a shot :)
Thanks for understanding :)

Could you please tell me what you thought was great about it?
Well, first of all, the cinematography is gorgeous, I've always been a fan of Conrad Hall's work and this is one of his very best in my opinion. I loved the dreamlike atmosphere and I actually really enjoy that uncomfortable feel.
The acting is great, I don't think I have seen much of William Atherton or Karen Black but they were both really good, and Donald Sutherland and Burgess Meredith steal the show.
I found that look to the golden years of Hollywood to be refreshing and it shows a really ugly face of it that we're not used to see, and, for me, the riot at the end is one of the most affecting moments in film ever, both psychologically and physically, it really did leave me shaking for a little bit.
I haven't seen much of Atherton or Black either... All the acting was good. All effective performances, giving off creepy, angry vibes.

Absolutely, the riot at the end really did have all my nerves messed up. HOMER, HOMER!!!

SPOILER

That little annoying shit that kept running around deserved to get his face smashed if you ask me.

If you want to see people at their most naked and ugly, see Nashville. Fucking brilliant.
Agree completely, I was cheering for Homer to smash that little shit's head haha
And, yes! I've been wanting to watch Nashville since forever, I actually bought the DVD recently, I need to get around to watch that as soon as possible. Funny fact: Karen Black appears on Nashville :)
