Oi, mates!
I just picked up a bunch of Green Lantern trade paperbacks, and have been loving them more than the Filipino prostitutes that I keep locked up in my basement! Quick question though pertaining to the power rings...

I'm currently on part 3 of the Revenge of the Green Lanterns arc where Guy and Hal are currently swapping blows with Hank Henshaw, who assaults them with four green lantern rings. Additionally, I had earlier skipped ahead and read the Sinestro Corps War paperbacks, and at one point Hal arms himself with (If I'm not mistaken) EIGHT fucking Sinestro Corps power rings! My question is thus...

Do multiple rings supply the user with more power? If so, wouldn't the Guardians issuing out multiple rings to their Lantern Veterans?

Maybe they don't have enough will power to use more than that many rings, maybe they don't give them more then one because they know how powerful it would make them, maybe they don't because they are hard to make (unlike the yellow rings?)....

Loads of maybes, not sure on an actual answer I guess we would have to speculate.
Who knows there could be a real reason... which is a likely answer as I forget a lot.
LOVE Green Lantern, Batman and the rest of the DC Universe! But is the comparison to Filipino prostitutes really necessary?? Because I'm Filipino... And to answer your question Sinestro Corps power rings works by fear which he used against them and Hal used to be possessed by Parallax that had to do w/ him able to wield multiple yellow rings. Also, being the greatest GL, a great amount of willpower.
Twas merely a joke, mate! I didn't mean any offense.
Ok I think I can answer this one. Each of the power rings are controlled and amplified by either willpower or a certain emotion (NO, WILL IS NOT AN EMOTION YOU FUCKING STUPID-ASSED WRITERS!) and EACH ring has a set amount of power within them.

Therefore yes more rings WOULD get you more power. HOWEVER, EACH ring would require the same amount of will/emotion to activate it. So if you had four green rings, you'd need FOUR times the willpower to use them.
So what is the mind setting or emotion for the green rings? I know its willpower but what emotion is that based on?

And if it takes more willpower to use more rings, the lanterns would have to get high as a kite to use multiple rings to go full power on emotions.
It doesn't require an emotion, it's supposed to be completely emotionless. It's just willpower. The Guardians are supposed to be emotionless creatures, whose opinions and actions are based on pure logic. Thus they created a willpower ring.
No emotions, huh? Ok I get that but how you connect that with the ability to use more rings? Yeah yeah i know more willpower but really how do get more will without emotion?
Willpower can come from emotion...like love or rage...but it is not dependant from it. Determination, dedication, belief in oneself, knowledge that yes you CAN do this. It comes from self-discovery and the strength of your own mind.
Ok I get it. So if John Steward had a red ring, green, and a blue ring then he would have to be thinking "Yes I can.... kick the shit out of you! Cause I'm Rick James, Bitch!" to be use all those rings together, right?
If he was also hoping to be Rick James....maybe.
A) Artistic/creative license, so quit bitching like a baby.

B) The common view is that "willpower" is analogous for "courage".
