Paying for Hulu?

Why is free ad-based streaming content STILL hard to comprehend for some people as it was two years ago with the writer's strike?
I'm wondering if that has anything to do with Netflix streaming new episodes of Heroes and Crash as they air. Does Hulu really want to go into the ring with Netflix? Trust me, Hulu, that is a fight you will not win.

i think whoever said that quote failed to realize that we DO appreciate the value of hulu.

While I'm here, I'd like to bring something up; If you're already paying for cable, why the fuck are there commercials on cable television?

Premium cable channels don't have ads which is what I think Hulu is aiming for. Just like how when I watch movies and TV shows on Netflix streaming, there are no ads because it's paid for.
But I also get DVDs in the mail from Netflix and they also have a hell of a lot more streaming content than Hulu, which is why they won't win.

I still don't get it, you're paying for cable television: it's already paid for.
The fact that you have to pay extra on top of your regular fees to get a handful of channels that don't have commercials is patently absurd.

You aren't paying for commercial free channels. You pay your cable provider for additional channels.

Over simplified chig. The fees we pay don't pay for the programs per-se. Comercial revenue pays for the programs themselves. Our fee is a service fee. The service of bundling the channels together in one easy package. The real problem with paying for HULU is there are already commercials you cant skip embeded in it. People arent going to pay "twice".

Once again you're over making it sound to simple. Channels likeTBS, TNT, WGN, adn HBO are not broadcast over the air. The "core" networks cbs, nbc, abc, fox, pbs, cw, and a few others are and each has a local affiliate. Which is one of the reasons Dish and DirectTv used to charge you for them. each market waas different
You can't call you local HBO channell XX and complain to the program manager. You could try to get a hold of each cable channel and try to set up your own packages. Which would be way more expensive than 49.99 for 100+ channels or... you pay Cable vision, Charter or ComCast to do the work for you.
