Permalink Reply by Jordan101 on November 1, 2012 at 2:57pm Assassins Creed Series. good but not amazing, combat never really improves , player is overpowered so when you jump into a group of 10 enemies you never feel in any danger, story just gets worse after every installment and game improvements are always marginal

I'll admit, I enjoyed the 3rd one a lot... but the rest, I just never got in to. Too much talking... I enjoy my story to be interwoven with the game.

Decent game. Awful Fallout game.
Permalink Reply by LunaticLMD on November 3, 2012 at 12:15pm Starcraft 2 - It's a very fun rts game, but it doesn't hold a candle to Brood war. It might be because Brood War had like a decade to develop the meta game, but we'll see if the expansions make SC2 more appealing to watch.
Half-Life 2 - Another very fun game (Back then), but yeah... outside of Alyx Vance. I don't see what it did so well. Enemy types were quite underwhelming and the vehicle sections... UGH.
League of Legends - This isn't about the game, but who can actually watch this competitively?
Halo 2/3 - Not a fan of the flood period. Halo 3 didn't have Cortana so it was boring to follow Master Chief around and Halo 2 just wasn't as fun as the first (Which isn't god's gift to gaming either)
Permalink Reply by Id0ntknow on November 3, 2012 at 12:35pm Half-Life 2? Really? While it was never my favorite game, I found it horribly engaging with a fun, interesting story. The physics engine still holds up 8 years after after its creation, as do the graphics.
Honestly, I'm more confused by the term "Back then" than anything...
Permalink Reply by LunaticLMD on November 3, 2012 at 2:05pm The physics and graphics hold up, but about "back then" I don't think the game is timeless like other people think. Stuff that was more tolerable in the past, you do again, and you're like eh...
The story... the characters are interesting (Alyx and dog), but overall I'm like... that's nice, whatever.

I certainly feel the vehicle's don't hold up for shit... so I can see where you're coming from.
Permalink Reply by Brian 'Born-a-Bastard' Jordan on November 3, 2012 at 12:23pm COD. Someone had to say it. Read somewhere COD= Children's Online Daycare. Thought that was pretty accurate. The franchise seems to really have made suckers out of their fans, slight repackaging then they get you for at least $120 (you're not gonna be able to keep up online without those DLCs). Actually think the BattleField Bad Company 2 games from 3 or 4 years ago was a much better online experience. Hell the COD online is horrible hacked and modded to hell because they don't want to screw with dedicated servers.
@Lorenzo- it takes a bit to get into Skyrim (and of course nothing is for everyone) the main quest is small compared to all the added content, fun side quest and doing things like getting married (in multiple towns to multiple races, sexes, etc) owning and pimping out your own homes, making enemies out of different factions while developing relationships with others. Running of into the woods and turning into a warwolf or slowly turning into a nasty vampire. If you've got the game on a P.C. the amount of mods to download and introduce new areas, characters, quest, bla bla bla is just crazy. But again the games not for everyone.
