If it's crap... We'll tell you

I'm glad that Cop killed that traitor it just sucks he had to lose his life in the process. Recent events have got me thinking on what should be done to the two surviving gunmen in today's attack on Fort Hood in Texas? If these Eye witnesses keep to their stories which they most likely will... Then do you guys feel it's appropriate to give them the death penalty?

Seeing someone shooting at you is something you aren't going to forget, or change your mind about, and I can't think of any reason for someone to lie about something like that...unless this whole thing goes way deeper than we know, and somehow links back to Bush.... which it might

Personally I think we should hang them in the middle of town square, but I own over 20 John Wayne Movies so that effects my judgment.

I will admit Obama did give a very tasteful speech

Treason = Death. My opinion, nothing further can be discussed with me. You will not be able to change my mind, it's that black/white with me.

Agreed, especially since he killed 13 people and wounded 30. They deserve death.

i don't think treason can be forgiven, i mean someone that betrays you will likely do it again. and when it's something like that i mean, of course death might be the answer. thought treason is not the worst thing that can happen, i mean there are a lot more criminals that are a lot worse and that really deserve death but don't get it (i know death is not a punishment, but at least when that person isn't there anymore you're sure he/she won't do it again)
before they give them death penalty i want to know why they did that, but yeah i think they should be put to death

The shooter wasn't killed, just wounded. But what he did wasn't treason. Treason involves betraying one's country and helping another wage war, such as when Julius and Ethel Rosenberg sold US nuclear secrets to the Soviets. The guy at Fort Hood just snapped.

You don't have any idea what you are talking about...

Major Nidal Malik Hasan was killed two other shooters are in custody.

He betrayed his country by killing his country men, and he betrayed the sworn oaths he took to get into the military... He's a traitor in every sense of the word.

Uh.... how is shooting US Soldiers NOT betraying the US country? How is shooting known Military troops on the VERGE of going into a battlefield NOT betraying the country that they are fighting for? How is someone that is supposedly (Not proven yet) involved with 2 other "Co-Conspirators" someone that just "Snapped"? How is killing 12 people, wounding 31 more just someone that has "lost it"?

No, this guy committed Treason in the most BLATANT way possible. The death of 12 military personal, and the wounding of an addition 31. He (The shooter) alone is accountable for the removal of over 40 soldiers from being able to wage a battle. Sorry, but that's treason. Not including the simple fact that the one shooter that is dead was an ARMY OFFICER. That alone is treason.

All of the reports I've been reading talk about just one shooter.

Treason is defined as a person betraying his country to help another country or enemy force make war against it. If it turns out that this guy was working for al-Qaeda, then it is treason. When a person goes against a commanding officer's orders, or attempts to usurp the command of an assuming officer, it is mutiny, which is what this case may have been. I've read that this guy was opposed to the occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan, and would frequently get into arguments with others over this issue. Supposedly, he was about to be deployed to active duty, but didn't want to go. Mutiny also carries a death sentence during wartime.

Mutiny is when you betray the people ABOVE your rank.
Treason is when you betray (Purposefully kill) the people BELOW your rank.

He betrayed his country, by killing the people sworn to DEFEND it. He betrayed his country when he made the decision to KILL fellow soldiers. He betrayed his country by preventing over 40 soldiers a peaceful existence at their own "home". (On base). He committed mutiny AND treason.

But yeah, for both mutiny and treason, you die. Simple as that. For me anyway, it's that simple.

One of the shooters was killed by a Cop, but the Cop was hit in the process of killing the "Main" shooter.
