cant really see big ears waltzing down a corridor, hammer in hand really..so itl be OB in name only...can any one confirm that they are "remaking" Cannibal Holocaust? im hoping it was a horrible dream ala lynch..

Why do people act like the remake has anything to do with the original?

Old Boy is a great film....that's never going to change....No matter how much the remake blows it still has nothing to do with the original.

IT ISN'T A REMAKE YOU NUMB SKULLS!

It is a movie adaptation on a comic that already had a movie adaptation. Do you consider Batman Begins a remake or a re imagining. Oldboy wasn't even that good, and Spielberg can be a good director when he chooses to be, and Will Smith (no matter how you feel about him) is a accomplished actor who has been nominated for an academy award numerous times.

I say before you start a petition to stop a film adaptation on a manga HALF OF YOU HAVEN'T EVEN FUCKING READ, you might just want to think about it.

First of all, not only did I read the whole series, I own the whole manga series.
The ending in the Manga sucks in comparison to the movie. The manga was great, but the antagonist was going after Oldboy because OB was touched by the song he sang during a school recital???? What the fuck! The Incest angle was better.
As for Will Smith he is a great actor (one of my favorite by the way), but he cannot hold a candle to Choi Sin Mik's performance.
As for Spielberg, he will rape Oldboy like he raped Indiana Jones
