1) Does anyone actually think the Old Boy remake is a good idea....anyone?
2) Will you be seeing the new Star Trek film....yes or no?
I host a podcast called Death to the Movies (you can find it on iTunes) and am curious to hear what the general thought is on these two subjects. Thanks!
Question 1: Yes i would like to see the remake of Oldboy. Because its based off of the comic book series that was made first. There are probaly some scenes that didnt make it into the film.
Question 2: I did like the trailer for the new Star Trek movie. It looks just like the original series but they can do things that the COULDNT do back then because they didnt have the technology.
no no no they are not valid answers, Oldboy was fantastic, I really cant see why you would think there would be new stuff for this new film, that means they are gonna fuck up with the story and tone it down, thats some i cant live with, NEVER.
Q1: Absolutely no!!!!. Oldboy rocks on its own. Hollywood's guaranteed to screw it up.
Q2: Morbid curiosity forces me to say yes, a couple of weeks after the hordes have died down. I want to go naked of any expectations and just enjoy what they put up there or slam it on its own merits, not whether it matches Gene Roddenberry canon.
I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen the original Old Boy, so I can't comment on a remake.
I've never been into Star Trek, but I am definatly going to see the new movie. It looks really really good, and it doesn't seem that you need to know any of the back story.
how can you remake something that was made perfect the first time, they always do this, they find a good classic , renake it & then it turns out to be as good as a shit pie, they need to spend a day in a crazy house , im sure they can get some idea's for films from them, if not call me, ha
