Hey guys I just posted this question in another forum and decided to post it here too. Could never get enough feedback. Do you think its a good idea to make books based off comic stories? I know that the vice versa has been done many times where comics were done off books* More recently its been book-> movie-> comic based off movie lol.

Anyway I've been wondering if it makes sense to make a book version from a comic. Even if the story is essentially the same. Do you think its a good idea? And if you've seen this already do you mind giving a few examples?

Thanks look foward to your feedback

I think it's a lame idea. It's just retelling the story without the benefits of a visual interface. Or in other words, it's like hearing the Lone Ranger on the Radio, compared to watching it on TV. It's a bad idea.
Thats a good point- though some people out there hate comics but love novels.

Suppose a deadpool novel came out that was written well- then youd get more people liking him I guess....Though it would be weird hearing ur teacher recommending deadpool for class to read O_O
Its no different than adapting a book to a movie.
It's been done well with Malus Darkblade series.
Actually, I read a book about Superman (well, technically it was about pre-esploded Krypton :P). I thought that was pretty interesting since I've never actually read a Superman comic.

And what the heck is wrong with radio plays? Don't you people have imaginations?

>:(
Death Note Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases is one. I can't say how good it is, though.
I am love/hate when it comes to fanfiction.

I do think that it would be cool to have a comic book have the ability to show a larger amount of the internal ticking of a superhero, but I would only read it if the creator of the superhero wrote it.

I do not know of a comic to book that has worked, but here is a book to comic that I think proves that a good story can have multiple mediums.

I think it could work. I think it could work with specific titles. For example, there's a Queen & Country novel.
oh sweet i knew about the mary jane novels and stuff bt didnt know novels off superman etc existed. Question was the carnage story the same as the comics? Or was it something completely different?
