The world's first full length animated film from Walt Disney himself is being re released on blu-ray FINALLY.

This is the first of Disney's New Diamond Collection on Blu-ray. The titles that will follow are Beauty and the Beast; Fantasia and Fantasia 2000; The Lion King; Bambi; Cinderella; Lady and the Tramp; The Little Mermaid; Peter Pan; The Jungle Book; 101 Dalmatians; Sleeping Beauty; and Pinocchio.

Am I the only one who's a little pissed that Aladdin's not among them? That was one of the studio's all time gems! (As well as a personal favorite of Disney's films)

Oh well looking forward to seeing these other DVD's and I Know the Spill crew will be excited to see the Pinnochio Diamond collection.

Aladdin received a huge DVD release about five years ago. Give it time.

As for the Diamond Edition, I like it, but something really irks me. They're making it easier to cross-platform by including the regular DVD with the Blu-Ray package, but the DVD version is also a Diamond Collection meaning it contains the two Blu-Ray discs as well. So, what's the point? You're getting the same discs and same extras, the only difference being in the packaging (the DVD Diamond Version has a cover color scheme of actual diamonds). Currently, at Best Buy, they cost the exact same, so this is sure to confuse parents with the two Diamond Editions, let alone the fact that there are two giant special editions in addition.
