If it's crap... We'll tell you

Okay Let me begin by saying, YES I LOVE THE TV SERIES!!!!!

Now when I heard that a live action movie was coming out I was skeptical, and then I heard about the white washing and became even more skeptical. Then they released these two picture....

What can I say about them, I LIKE THEM!!!!!

That's right I like the looks of it. I actually think this movie actually has a fighting chance. Look at the last picture of Zuko, and try to not say that doesn't look badass.

Some say that the white washing is stupid, and I admit at first I thought it sounded stupid too. But then I read a quote that Producer Frank Marshall said about this controversy.

"Our vision for the movie is of ONE world, made up of four Nations, influenced and inspired by the Asian undertones of the series. This world will have an ethnically diverse cast that represents many different heritages and cultures from all corners of the globe."

After reading that all I could really say was...."That actually makes sense"

The producers aren't making a movie that makes it look like Asians rule the earth(Nothing wrong with that) They're making one world that is separated by four different nations each with Asian undertones. It's not about one community its a bunch of societies all from different races. So basically they aren't letting race become a issue, they aren't looking at these actors saying "Okay you got the acting chops....but sorry can't give yah the job since your not Asian" If you ask me...THAT IS RACIST.

They are looking at these actors saying "hmm he has the talent, and he can act, and he knows martial arts, I think this dude can be Zuko/Aang/Sokka/etc." Also in case you guys haven't noticed, the show this movie is based off...... is an AMERICAN made TV show has ASIAN Undertones (Exactly Like the Movie)

That ends the race discussion

Some are complaining saying that the costumes don't look anything like the TV show, or that the scar on Zuko looks wierd, or that Zuko's hair isn't in a ponytail and all I can say to that is....

GET OVER IT!!!!!

Not everything can be exactly like the TV show. Just because the dude who plays Zuko doesn't look like the splitting image of the cartoon Zuko, doesn't mean the film is going to be bad!!! Heath Ledgers Joker doesn't look anything like the Joker in the comics, but he nailed the character's personalty down pat. Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool doesn't look anything like the comic book character, but he nailed the personality down pat (In the beginning only, the end was a huge cluster-fuck)

Anyone who is already judging the movie already, when all you've seen a few picture is a fucking picky problem child and needs to quit wetting their pants just because the it doesn't look like the TV series.

That's all you guys are doing, your being picky...

"WAHHH Zuko doesn't have a pony tail"
"WAHHH Aang looks a little too young"
"WAHHH the color of Katara's eyes aren't the same color as the one from the TV show"

GET OVER IT!!!

In Short, I'm still going to go see this movie. I'm going to judge it on its story, SFX, and acting, and not whether or the actor should/shouldn't be white.

to be fair aang does look a little bit like a really tall baby in the pic but movie looks good. though it is made by M.Night. Shamalamalaanmalam so there will be a twist of some sort

...I wouldn't want Asians to "rule the earth" (THAT'S NOT RACIST...I'm asian C;)

The pics look cool--I wish Dev best of luck with this. Oh and for M. Night...he needs a good flick badly.

...I'm kinda nervous for him, though...I think he should take a break--either that or focus on directing somebody else's screenplay.

I'm willing to bet any money that Dev's portrayal will be one of the greatest parts of the film even if the film ends up sucking the big one. Dev is a great actor and I'm glad he's committing to this film, in fact alot of the fire nation actors are great....

Dev was great in Slumdog Millionaire
Shaun Toub was great in Iron Man
Cliff Curtis was decent in Live Free or Die Hard

I feel the costume is abit too perfect! it needs to be more real. Like dirt on it and stuff, because in real life it wouldn't be that CLEAN!

it´s not gonna be an happening.

Thank god it won't, but I'll be happy if it's at least as good as Signs (not good, but not bad), I'm not expecting The Sixth Sense or Unbreakable quality,

All that work it took to light all those candles just to blow them out in the first 50 seconds. Jk

This Christmas, my sister has been catching up on season 5 of Nip/Tuck. What is the appeal of this show? It's day-time soap-opera meets porn. A lame plot that serves no more than for the characters to have sex. Being a television show, noting can b…
