If it's crap... We'll tell you

Over the past few years, I have stood by and watched horror movies from the 80's, or even 70's, get remade into very shitty movies. I personally like the Dawn of the Dead remake, but it can never be superior to the orignal. The idea for this came out of both Friday The 13th coming out soon, and also me watching the direct-to-dvd "remake" of Day of the Dead. Most of you already know about my intense hatred of the Prom Night remake. Now, I hear information about remakes of Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play, and even older ones such as The Creature from the Black Lagoon. So I ask, what's your opinion, or where do you stand on the cycle of horror remakes?

Maybe. But it still is kind of a lame franchise to remake.

it tough to make a doll scary,i mean look at a movie that did attempt to make a scary doll movie "dead silence"
which had a doll that would move it eyes back and forth, i'am really scared .i mean thats the problem you be making a movie that sadly would never achieve anything higher then the terrible "dead silence "
now if you want to make a scary doll movie, heres the doll that can do it
i give you ....

John Carpenter's The Thing is a remake and it's one of the greatest horror movies out there. I liked the Dawn of the Dead remake too, much more then the original actually. Other then those.....meh.

to mike..go check out "the haunting" (robert wise, 1963) otherwise remakes are all shite...having just watched Funny Games US, id have to ask WHY?? at least they used the same music but if hanneke remade it for a larger audience (ie english speaking americans) he was on a hiding to nothing...
