The true Bohemian posted a statusif you cry spoiler alert on this discussion FUCK YOU you shoulda read the title dumbass,
i do have one problem with the end:
I can Accept the Giant Batman Statue
I can Accept Batman telling Gordon who he is
I can EVEN ACCEPT JGL as the Robin character who finds the bat cave
BUT HOW THE HELL DID BATMAN GET OUTSIDE THE 6 MILE BLAST RADIUS OF THE ATOM BOMB ( at least, i think Bane said it was a 6 mile blast radius, i could be wrong, that man needed subtitles in a few parts). i know Batman has a talent for disappearing hell, where do you think the phrase "Batman the fuck outa there" comes from but i mean it showed Batman in the cockpit of The Bat until like the last 2 seconds before it blew up, I can think of no possible way for him to get out of that.
i guess you can't even nuke Batman
well i guess if you can heal a broken back with 3 months bed rest and a few hours in a rope, and after that climb out of a whole that only one little girl has ever been able to climb out of, you can say FUCK YOU to a nuke with a 6 mile blast radius!
BATMAN BITCHES!!!!!!
i still love the movie and im probably going to see it a 3rd time this weekend
but i prefer the Adam West version of the ending

Not to mention Batman left a new Bat-Signal for Gordon and Alfred was not aware of Bruce falling for Catwoman, so it wouldn't made sense that he saw her with him if he was imagining it.

Permalink Reply by Admiral Phil-Good on July 25, 2012 at 1:26am .......BATMAN DIED (I WANT IT TO BE THAT SO IT IS TO ME) ALFRID JUST WANT'S TO BE HAPPY (HE WANT'S IT TO BE SO IT WILL BE) I SAY BATMAN DIED AND ALFID IS IN A DEPRESSON SO....that's my 2 cent on the matter....
Permalink Reply by The Halfrican on July 25, 2012 at 1:35am that made ZERO sense and its Alfred not Alfid, Batman didn't die, i like the theory that he did its very interesting, but no Batman lived and it was too happy an ending, felt rushed but oh well, good final ending are hard to write and this was an acceptable ending to this trilogy
Permalink Reply by Admiral Phil-Good on July 25, 2012 at 1:42am wow what MDS said isnt all to far from the truth Alfred wanted to see Bruce happy and maybe he just saw that again (but if that is the trus it shoud have ben more clear)
Permalink Reply by Joe on July 25, 2012 at 4:15pm If Batman did die then what was the point of the scene with Luscious Fox at the end when those engineers (or what ever they were) explaining that the autopilot did work?
Permalink Reply by AcE! on July 25, 2012 at 9:46pm There's no way Batman died. Why would they make such a big deal out of Bruce Wayne learning to fear death and finding a new form of strength by abandoning his death wish, if he was just going to kill himself at the end anyway?
Permalink Reply by MDS on July 25, 2012 at 9:59pm Sure, because both Bane and Talia's concept of "revenge" meant blowing themselves up at the end anyway. See how that logic falls apart? You two "baddies" are going to blow themselves up, then does it really matter if Batman is going to do it too?
It just does NOT MAKE ANY FUCKING SENSE! It's a BAD ENDING, that could have been avoided with 2 second of film showing Batman hitting the "ejection seat". Planes can fly relatively straight for awhile before needing a "form of autopilot". Tip the nose up, hit eject, let the Batplane go relatively straight and upward, until it starts to fall on it's own. Batman ejects to safety, then his "death" can be re-done as a "hoax" so that he can have a "regular life". But nope, those 2 seconds aren't there and the ending is left with a big "WHAT THE FUCK" from the audience.
Permalink Reply by AcE! on July 25, 2012 at 10:36pm While I agree that it wasn't a very good ending, I think Nolan wanted the audience to feel what the onlookers were feeling as the explosion happened. In my book the whole sequence was a bad idea, but if my only option is to edit what's there I wouldn't want that shot there for that reason. I didn't find it hard to believe that Batman just baled (ha!) out at some point, even though I was puzzled at first.
You two "baddies" are going to blow themselves up, then does it really matter if Batman is going to do it too?
I don't entirely understand what you're trying to say here.
Permalink Reply by MDS on July 25, 2012 at 10:42pm What i mean is that after 2hrs of building up Bane and Talia as the 2 badguys, you realize that their whole plan of "revenge" is going to set off a Nuke in the city that they are in. Basically, the concept of "revenge" is blowing yourself up in a suicide attack.
Well, if the two badguys are going to be killed off by doing what they were planning to do. Does it matter that Batman gets blown up or not? I mean, if they are going to take themselves out in such a manner..... Then who gives a fuck about them at all as characters. It's no longer a "character story" (Which at least the prior 2 batman movies were)... But now it's just a "ticking timer" story, and void of any emotional attachment to ANY of the characters, both good and bad.
Permalink Reply by The Halfrican on July 25, 2012 at 10:49pm i see what you are saying and i agree except its a ticking timer story, with characters you have come to love over 2 movies but still a ticking timer story none the less
