Cake: They make weird obscure indie rock. Manny people have heard they music few know who they actually are.
Tilly and the Wall: Once again weird band (and i mean really weird). But thats only because they are tottally unique, there procussion section is actually a tap dancer. They arent for everyone but if you like me and you dig an original sound Tilly and the Wall is worth checking out. I cant say i have ever heard anything quite like them.
The Cool Kids: “A hip hop for the rest of us” is how they were once described. To smart to be put in a box these two take hip hop in the opposite direction of gangsta rap and do it with an strong 80s influence to their sound.
Myda: A little Asian chic who write, sings, and composes modern funk songs music with witty & creative lyrics.
Brother Ali: An Albino rapper who is part of the reason I feel in love with hip hop again. If you have ever wondered what rap would sound like if people weren’t intentionally trying to be as ignorant as possible? Well he’s it.
Immortal Technique: Anyone whos a really into hip hop knows this guy but he is to attached to his money (and freedom) to ever been signed he is confided to the underground scene but he is hands down the best gangsta rapper in the game right now.
India Ire: I don’t know why people don’t listen to her, her music is amazing…mellow, insightful…she sings about life and she doesn’t dress/act like a whore.
GoGo (no not like the dancers) music in general but specifically Mambo Sauce, they are my favorite gogo band.

Amanda Palmer--Who is my art crush.
Whether it's with the Dresden Dolls or on her own, she is awesome. Her live shows are great. She's like art rock, but without the pretentiousness. She always has guests and great collaborators. One of which was Neil Gaiman, who helped her with her album and the art book that followed. I guess as of her last blog she is going out with Neil Gaiman. So that makes her extra cool.

I have to say Testament the best metal band. People still consider slipknot and disturbed real metal.
Hear some Testament and see what true metal is. They never sold out to be played on TRL and never cared about commerical success. Only made pure metal music.
