I've never really felt any vindication over seeing bad movies bomb. There has never been any connection between a film's financial success and its quality. If I get happy from seeing Disaster Movie do well, I'd have to be depressed by the fact that Encounters At The End Of The World was only released in like 12 theaters at the height of its theatrical success. On the other hand, if Encounters was a smash hit, it might not feel as precious to me, knowing that I'm one of the priveleged few to have even seen it.
When there's some semblance balance, I can start to care about it.
Actually, I was kinda happy to see The Spirit flop.
Punisher: War Zone. I hated it. I think they should've waited and put out something different from the Marvel comics then rebooted with Punisher like they did for Hulk. I wish Jane came back and the studio had a better script. Oh and I liked Thomas Jane's Frank Castle better. I think the first Punisher was a great origin film and introduced the character properly to non-comic readers. I know a lot of people frown upon the first one more but look at the numbers for PWZ. Huge fail.
