For me it was the first Scooby Doo. It was being filmed at the old power house 5 minutes from where I lived. When you drove past you could see the mystery van parked out the front.
So what are some movies to film in your home town?
I live an hour or so away from San Francisco, so i'm lucky to live very close to the Filming Location for The Birds. American Graffiti is the most famous film I can think of that was in my hometown Petaluma. After looking on wikipedia, i really didn't realize how many movies were filmed there. A few scenes from the newest X-Files movie were actually filmed in San Francisco, my sister and I drove around a little but couldn't find them.
Several movies have been filmed in Stockton over the years. Some contained quite a bit of filming while others small portions. The downtown buildings appear in many backdrops, the delta is often used in "Vietnam" movies, and UOP has been featured several times. The following is not a complete list, but a hefty one:
All the King's Men
An American Murder
The Big Country
Bound for Glory
Cool Hand Luke

According to Wikipedia, "Rob Schneider collapsed from heat exhaustion and food poisoning on the set in Stockton on June 29, 2006. During the filming, temperatures in the Stockton area hit record highs of 115 degrees. Stockton became so hot during the shoot that Schneider provided unlimited bottled water, umbrellas, and medics to apply sunscreen every 3 hours to the cast and crew."
Yeah, that's how hot my hometown gets. Enough to melt a former cast member of Saturday Night Live, Oh yeah, baby!
Not a bad list, for being # 1 Forbes Magazine worst city to live in the United States for 2008-2009 (we got bumped down to #5 now, Vegas took that spot now).
Hello Guys and gals. Well they said we’d never get there. Said it could not be done. Well ok, no one really said anything either way but we still did make it to episode ten of the Weekenders podcast.
In the 10th edition B and I talk about T...
