Since it's a Sunday and I was planning to kick back and watch a couple of movies, I thought I'd share with you folks here what I reckon are awesome movies to watch while you're relaxing in your couch on a lazy weekend. Let me know what you guys think!!!

1) Thank You For Smoking

This is absolutely one of my most favourite films of all time, and the key reason why I knew that Aaron Eckhart was perfectly capable playing a politician. This movie is littered with an amazing cast all the way from Aaron himself to JK SImmons. It's not fast-paced, the dialogue is snappy and the storyline is absolutely hilarious. Perfect film that you can just chill and eat a bowl of cereal to. In fact, that's exactly what I play to do.

Scene to take note of: the debate between the three MOD (merchants of death) on whose product (smoking, guns or alcohol) kills the most lives. Absolutely amazing scene that was delivered perfectly by the three central characters. Their chemistry was amazing.

2) Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Another reason to watch this besides the fact that IRONMAN and the old BATMAN are teaming forces with the help of a ridiculously hot girl is the awesome dialogue. It's so witty and snappy that you can't help but fall in love with each and every character the moment you meet them. Plus, you get to see Robert Downey Jr show just how irritating and loveable he can be at the same time; Val Kilmer pull off a badass gay detective and to look into the minds of the guys who brought us LETHAL WEAPON. Need I say more?

Scene to take note of: Every single conversation between Robert Downey Jr and Val Kilmer is priceless. You absolutely have to check this out.

3) Role Models

This comedy surprised me by how much I like Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott as a duo. It's not a movie you have to have beers and watch with a bunch of friends with; you could just relax in your couch and watch it on your own in the comfort of your living room. Seriously speaking, this is one of the comedies I have no problem with just chortling to myself with. A very surprisingly good film.

Scene to take note of: I think we all know the answer to this one. The entire larp sequence at the last 20 minutes of the film. Gut-bustingly hysterical.

4) Frost/Nixon

I know what you're thinking.

Follow up Role Models with Frost/Nixon, are you insane???

Well I think that sometimes a direct contrast of films is perfect, especially if it's a movie of such brilliance as this movie. It took me a while to realize who the actress of the film was; she played Christian Bale's wife in the movie The Prestige. The actor who plays the tv personality David Frost was so charming and likeable you couldn't help but root for him. . .but Frank Langela kicks the ASS out of everyone with his performance as the ex-president of the United States; Nixon. This movie is so powerful and amazing that it blew me out of my chair. As the director put it, this film is Rocky with words. A cage match between two powerful adversaries in a battle of wits.

Scene to take note of: The sequence in which Nixon calls Frost up in the middle of the night is hands-down one of my most favourite scenes in movie history, as well as every single debate they have in here. Both these men are incredible actors.

5) Amelie

What a way to end a 10-hour movie marathon than this sweet little French film starring one of my favourite actresses of all time; Audrey Tatou. Every single camera angle in this movie was stunning (go see Harry Potter Half Blood Prince; it was done by the same people) and I was breathless in awe the first time I saw this. This movie is the perfect way to end the night.

Scene to take note of: The kissing sequence at the near-end of the film. One of the cutest things I have ever seen in my life.

So what do you all think? Let me know!!!

really? i found the fact that it was so quirky and cute made it into such a beautiful little film. first time i watched it i didnt think id love it so much either...until i saw it the second time and noticed all the small little things about it. check it out again if you have the time :)
and hell yes, half blood prince looked incredible, didnt it?
If you can get it get hold of film "Roger Dodger" its really good. Its main star is Jesse Eisenberg of Adventureland, Zombieland and The Squid and The Whale fame.

the film is about some nerdy kid's slick womanising uncle tryng to get his nephew laid (for once). Its not camp it looks quite real and is entertaining.
