Justified Julius posted a statusI've had to learn a long time ago, movie trailers LIE! Either they change the story, make the movie look like a genera that it isn't, or god knows what.
Someone reminded me of a trailer for Alien 3, and the trailer said that the movie took place on Earth, and even gave away the ending at one point.
Or the trailer makes the movie look like a big dumb action movie, and it isn't. Like The Raven movie, that looks bad.
But who knows. You guys let me know, what trailers have you seen that have done that to you.

Permalink Reply by SLAPJAW on April 16, 2012 at 5:09pm Trailers try to sell the movie to the audience. I find that most trailers contain all of the best parts of the movie. When I finally see the movie, I'm often disappointed because I already saw all the best parts. The rest was just crap. I don't care much for trailers myself.
Permalink Reply by Jordan Royter on April 16, 2012 at 5:14pm Too true, when I saw the trailer for the film Year one, they pretty much showed all the funny scenes to the movie.
I mean, the movie it self was god awful, and I hated it. Whats worse, my brother recommended it! Saying, "Its like Monty Python if it were done today." That was NOTHING like Monty Python! That was crap!
Thanks for your comment.

Permalink Reply by I.Koval on April 17, 2012 at 6:24am I hate the trailers that show you the entire movie even worse than misleading ones. Some trailers show you the whole thing minus filler and leave you feeling like you've just seen the whole movie already, so why bother watching the long version?
The one that stands out to me was The Score with Edward Norton and Robert Deniro
The trailer made it look like the movie was about how Edward Norton betrayed Robert Deniro during a score and then Robert Deniro would spend the movie trying to track him down for revenge... sort of like in The Italian Job
But the movie was really this slow methodical planning of an inside job to steal this scepter and Edward Norton betraying Robert Deniro was supposed to be the twist at the end.
It's still a really good movie, I just spent the first hour thinking "Man, when is Edward Norton going to steal form Robert Deniro" and then after a little while it dawned on me that "holy shit, that's the goddamned ending!"
