There are movies that are about racist/misogynistic characters and then there are movies that have a racist/misogynistic message. What are some racist or misogynistic movies?

Joke's on you Dominick. That thread is about the Filmmakers themselves given their body of work, and is not mutually exclusive to subjects such as racism. This thread is about the movies themselves.

Dumbass.

@Dominick

The Birth Of A Nation is pretty racist, maybe the most racist movie you might ever see. Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen and Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace have pretty offensive characters. And, from what I hear, The Song Of The South is about as racist as The Birth Of A Nation.

Regarding misogyny, while I can't think of too many off the top of my head, Sucker Punch and the Twilight series certainly came off that way.

For Racist movies:

Birth of a nation

Song of the south

Bamboozled

For Misogynistic:

Almost every adam sandler movie

Sucker Punch

300

I wouldn't exactly class it as misogynist but it is only women being tortured etc.

Well, it's a faux documentary where the rascism is really tongue in cheek, but "The Confederate States of America" really just astounded me with the amount of racist crap was even in that film.

Racist ~ X-men First Class ~ Mississippi Burning ~ most horror films...

Misogynistic ~ depends on how you interpret the term TBH, if an actress is willing to shed her skin, speak the lines, play the part or whatever is it really misogynistic? ... also, most horror films...

Also, Lord of the Rings, as much as I love it, had some racist shit in it.

The men of the east were Middle Eastern or African.

"Rise, men of the west."

Men of the east? You mean the men from Rhun?

I was thinking more of the dudes riding the elephants. The Easterlings.

A film that always bothered me was 300

Ten thousand men from the Middle East are stopped by three hundred Europeans? In Sparta women only have value because they give birth to Spartan men? Anyone born with birth defects in Sparta is put to death as a newborn? The dark skinned people from the Middle East are portrayed as sinful but the Europeans are virtuous? Spartans refer to the people of Athens as "boy lovers" is this a homophobic remark?

There's a lot I found unsettling about that film!
