I just watched this. I watched it three times in a row, looked at the clues hidden in the packaging, looked up the meanings on line, watched certain scenes more, and I still can't say the complete linear plot line of the movie from start to finish. I will write an analysis soon, but I think I have to watch it one more time to completely get it. Mulholland Drive is deep thinking, mysterious, horrifying, and most of all original and near perfect for what it is. It is a great film, just most people will not know what it is even about by the end.

Mulholland Dr. is actually my favorite film. It IS confusing, but if you watch it enuff it does make sense. I think you're on the right track though, have you seen David Lynch's Inland Empire?
