This is probably one of the most mixed reviewed games I've ever seen from Nintendo. It's gotten AAAE, AAE, AE, and BE scores from various sites. It currently has a solid 80% on Metacritic, and I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on such an interesting title. Who else is?
(Btw, G4's review was one of the worst reviews I've ever read gaming-related or otherwise. The explanation video didn't help her case either.)

Yes, that X-Play review was downright horrible. But then again, Morgan Webb and some of the writing crew tend to have a biased opinion towards Nintendo.

if you haven’t gotten the game yet here’s my opinion, i think for anyone who is a Metroid fan should pick this up or at least borrow it from a friend. Everything in the game is pretty solid besides the fact that the cut scenes sometimes are too long and you cannot skip them. Another complaint is it is way too easy. i wish you could pick your difficulty level in the beginning, but after you beat the game you can play a hard mode. my biggest complaint is that it took me only 6 HOURS TO BEAT THE GAME!! For a $50 game i think i should at least get 10 hours of game play in it. and because of that i have been telling my friends not to buy it and just borrow it from me. i really think that this is a game all Metroid fans should play at some time but i really don’t know if it’s worth a buy

I really gave up on the Wii a long time ago. They alienated the very same people who stood by and supported the 64 and GC. That being said I've heard some really good things about this game but not enough for me to invest any more money into my Wii.

If you gave up on the Wii, don't reply. There are plenty of games on it for people like you, or better yet, us, and if you don't want to invest in them post in another topic. I really can't stand posts like that, you add nothing to the discussion.
Anyway, I got the game, and I friggin' loved it. It took my 15 hours to get 100%. (Secret boss ftw.) Took me 5 hours to beat it on hard mode, though it was probably a bit longer because some bosses gave me a really hard time. Good 20 or so hours of content, so I was satisfied with my purchase given how high-quality the experience was. Third favorite game this year behind Red Dead and SMG2.
Another killer app for the Wii, I'd say.
