Batman didn't die in the helicopter crash though. While it was going down there was narration going on via Bruce Wayne writing his last entry in the Black Casebook. He'd have to live through the crash to write about it. Also he is shown alive in the next issues leading into Final Crisis.
Calling the story Batman RIP seems to have mislead a lot of people. Imagine that lulz
Okay I have always been a DC fan but my favorite character has always been Captain America. I agree that each have there moments. Marvel had Planet Hulk, Messiah Complex, House of M, and Civil War but then One more day happened and everything with the exception of Cable and Captain America has sucked big balls. Planet hulk was destroyed by World War Hulk, Civil War was killed by Secret Invasion, and House of M still has an unresolved story that i have to say can be the back bone and resurrection of marvel if done right. DC has been a rollercoaster, Up with Identity crisis, semi down with Infinite Crisis, Up with 52, Down with countdown, Up again with the first 6 issues of final crisis, Down again with the 7th issue of final crisis. Up with sinestro corps, and continuing up with Blackest night. I think anything Geoff touches is turns to Gold. I'm liking the new Gotham and metropolis set up with the secondary characters getting the lime light. New Krypton has been framazing and batman and robin has been out of hand. My vote is for DC by a mile.
Recently go into comics and havnt read much but almost all I've read has been marvel. Civil War is awesome. But I think they are almost like two different tastes. Most of the time, even if you havnt read comic ur inclined to Marvel or Dc. At least that's how in was. Since I was little Ive always loved marvel characters.
As of now, I lean more towards DC because I enjoy it more and I haven't really had loads of Marvel reading. That will be likely to change one of these days.
